FAQs
1. What is the Lions + Lambs Throwdown?
This is a fun, local CrossFit-style partner competition for kids and parents (or adult family/friends) to team up and throw down together! Everyone will complete 3 workouts with around an hour rest between each. The event will wrap up by 1 PM.
2. I'm not very confident in my fitness level—can I still participate?
Yes! This event is for all ability levels. While there will be a champion in each division, the goal is to offer a safe and light-hearted environment for everyone to “compete”—possibly for the first time ever!
3. I have an injury that limits certain movements, but my kid really wants to participate. Can we still do it?
Absolutely. We will substitute any unsafe movements with equally challenging alternatives that won't cause injury or unnecessary pain. While this will take you out of podium contention, you can still enjoy the event and work hard.
4. I have multiple kids who want to compete—can I participate with both?
Yes! Parents have done this in the past. It’s tiring, but doable. Just let us know ahead of time so we can space out your heat times. You can also have a sibling, friend, or grandparent step in and compete with one of the kids if needed.
5. My child hasn’t done CrossFit. Can they participate?
Of course! Workouts will be safe and simple for all ability levels. Weights and movements will scale by age group, and everything will be easy to follow regardless of CrossFit experience.
6. What if I don’t understand a workout?
We’ve got you covered! We’ll provide detailed briefing videos for each workout, breaking down movements, flow, tips, and strategy for both kids and adults. Still confused? Reach out—we’re happy to help!
7. What is LongArm?
LongArm is a nonprofit in Malawi, Africa that supports vulnerable and abandoned children by meeting their basic needs. Their mission is to provide family preservation whenever possible and connect children to adoptive families when necessary. Learn more at: longarmmalawi.com/what-we-do
