About This Competition

Welcome to a team Crossfit competition like none you've seen before!

The event will test mixed pairs (teams of 2, comprised of 1 male and 1 female). There will be an RX and a Scaled division.

TOTAL PRIZE PURSE $1200

Rx & Scaled podium Prizes:

1st place $300, 2nd place: $200, 1st place: $100

There will be 4 WODs for this competition. Each workout will also have a mental/cognitive component to the workout, making it mentally challenging as well as physically challenging. WOD details will be released closer to the competition.

Don't worry, we won't make you do long-hand division. But this competition will require you to work efficiently with your teammate. **For example, we might give you a workout where a certain amount of work is to be done in a given amount of time, but with no parameter on how to get the work done. You and your teammate must quickly figure out (before the workout starts) the best rep-scheme for the work in the time allotted.**

There might be other challenges along the way, each with their own score.

24 teams total will be allotted for this event (12 Rx and 12 Scaled).

Please bring enough food and drink for the day as food and drinks will be limited on site. There are food options nearby. Please bring tents as space in the gym is limited for bystanders.

RX Standards (if you are thinking of doing RX, these movements are some you might see): Handstand Pushups, Pistols, Clean/Jerk (185/135), Snatch (135/95), Toe-to-bar, Chest-to-bar, Deadlift (275/185), Dumbbell Snatch (50/35), Double Unders, 100 lb Sandbag over shoulder (both male & female), bar muscle up.

Scaled standards are suitable for all athletes.

Workout details will be released closer to the event date on the Facebook Page and Instagram.

50% Discount for Military/Fire/Police/Medical professionals. 50% off registration of second team if signed up at same time (from same gym, don't have to be service connected). Email (below) to get the code for discount code for checkout.

Workouts

AMRAP: TBD

Snatches & Lateral Bar Burpees

On the 3-2-1 go, athlete 1 will perform as many snatches as that athlete desires as touch-and-go, meaning the barbell cannot be dropped during this set. Once the snatches are completed and the barbell is set down, the same amount of lateral barbell burpees must be completed and partner tagged before those snatches are counted. At that time, athlete 2 begins the same couplet.

For example: Athlete 1 approaches barbell and does 6 touch-n-go snatches, they must at that point do 6 lateral bar burpees and tag their partner for those snatches to count. Once tagged, Athlete 2 starts their snatches.

Score is in completed snatches.

There is no minimum requirement (an athlete could decided to do 2 snatches or 15 snatches per set), but once the barbell is dropped, the athlete cannot pick the barbell back up. Burpees must be completed at that time, and then partners tag and the other athlete starts on snatches.

MIND GAMES ELEMENT: In this event, there will be 2 weights for snatches, heavy and light (135/95, and 95/65). One teammate must choose to do the entire workout at heavy, and one teammate do the entire workout light. Teammates get to choose who gets heavy and light, but once chosen, that teammate must do the entire workout at that weight. (i.e. if male chooses heavy (135) then female must do light (65)).

Note: if 30 seconds remains on the clock, a set of 10 snatches could be completed in that time, however the athlete must also complete the burpees and tag their partner before the score is counted. This means strategy is needed during the workout.

Weights will be:

135/95(H) & 95/65(L) for RX.

105/75(H) & 75/55(L) for scaled.

(H=heavy, L=light)

21 min cap: 400 reps for time

On the 3-6-9-12-15-18 minute: Row Cal & Sand Bag over bar (corresponding reps to minutes)

**Movement Selection Board: A board with 10 different movements on it arranged in a grid (i.e. Wallballs, Toe to bar, Handstand pushups, etc.). Each movement will be written on a single card and placed on this board, some movements appearing more than once on the board. Each movement card represents 100 reps of that movement unless otherwise noted**

On the 3-2-1 go, each team will do 100 double unders total as a buy in, split between the athletes. Then one team member will race over to the Movement Selection Board and select a movement off the board to take back and complete 100 reps total of that movement with their teammate, one teammate working at a time. Once that movement is completed, a teammate races back to the board to grab another movement card to bring back. This will continue for the entire 21 minutes, with breaks in the work every 3 minutes to complete the corresponding rowing cals and bag over bar.

Once a card has been chosen off the board, that card can no longer be chosen in that heat, so communication among teammates is crucial in picking the movements you believe you can do the most efficiently with the movements that are left. The further into the workout, the less choices remain.

Movements you might see: Wallballs, Handstand pushups, chest to bar pullups, muslce ups, dumbbell snatch, KB swings, toe to bar, wall walks, a few others.

All movements are 100 reps and must be completed before moving on to the next movement, so choose carefully, but also quickly.

Score is time to complete 400 reps (not including cals rowed, bag over bar, or dubs).
