ERGCOMP 2021 : Individual Rowing
About This Competition
Celebrate the end of lock-down with a new challenge, renew old rivalries (in person!), start a new one(!), or come along just for the hell of it!
Put your indoor rowing skills to the test in 1 of multiple categories across gender, age and weight, in this event held at Staffordshire County Showground during a weekend long festival of fitness to include; ERGCOMP Pairs Ergathlon (Saturday 24th July - sign-up also!), Battle of Britain (CrossFit competition) and Flaming Skull (Masters & Teens CrossFit).
Compete in 4 exciting events, pushing the boundaries of broad fitness by testing all modalities; power, endurance, all-round fitness, tactical execution and technical ability.
Workouts have been devised for release in the build up to the event and we promise they'll be in an exciting format for competitors and spectators alike!!
Time:
8:00am to 6:00pm
Full event timetable to be released closer to the event.
Prizes:
Awarded to the top 3 positions in each category.
Age categories:
Open - Any age
Masters - 40+
Weight categories:
Male: Lightweight < 75kg > Middleweight < 90kg > Heavyweight
Female: Lightweight < 61.5kg > Heavyweight
Athletes will be weighed in on the day. If you do not make weight, you can still compete in your assigned heat but will be compared against the category you do qualify for.

Behind every great event is a group of exceptional judges. So, to get a little closer to the action, we encourage anyone to please sign-up to be a judge or contact us direct. In return, you'll receive a t-shirt and lunch.

This event supports the British Rowing Rules around promoting clean sport. All competitors who enter could be subject to testing, and therefore it is important that you take the time to familiarise yourself with your rights and responsibilities. 400m intervals @ higher resistance (drag factor = 150)
800m intervals @ lower resistance (drag factor = 100)
2 x 15 cals + shuttle runs
ONLY the TOP 5 athletes after 3 workouts progress to the FINAL… and it’s a knock-out!
Every 3 minutes (up to 4x), complete 500m for time.
The slowest time each interval is eliminated and your position determined.
