About This Competition
Battle of the Border is a competition like no other. With each team completing 4 tests across mixed domains all within a 2 hour time window we set out to test your stamina, strength, power and skill aswell as your ability to work well and strategise as a team.
with 2 ability categories on offer and no gymnastic skill elements this competition is set out to be a test for all
example weights for each catecory:
Open: Barbell/ Axle 40/25kg Sandbag 40/30kg Dumbbells: 15/10kg Kettlebell: 16/12kg Slam ball: 15/10kg wallball: 6/4kg
Compete: Barbell/ Axle 60/40kg Sandbag 60/40kg Dumbbells: 22.5/15kg Kettlebell: 24/16kg Slam ball: 20/15kg wallball: 9/6kg *any other equipment of equivelent weights

Workout 1A - 1km team sandbag run
male compete - 30kg
female compete - 20kg
male open - 20kg
female open - 10kg
Workout 1 - Endurance
For time:
1km Sandbad run (workout 1A)
1km run
Into...
225/175 cal assault bike +
3 rounds:
30 sandbag box overs
50 wall balls
70 hurdle jumps
- 30 minute cap-
*each incomplete rep or calorie within 30 minute cap will be added on as an aditional second.
Team mates must remain together throughout 1km sandbag run but can split for second 1km run once sandbag has been returned and score 1A time has been recored.. work can begin on assault bike or 3 rounds as soon as first athlete has returned. Assault bike and 3 rounds completed at same time switching as you like.
Male compete: 30kg sandbad, 24" box, 9kg wall ball
Female comete: 20kg sandbag, 20" box, 6kg wall ball
Male open: 20kg sandbag, 24" box, 6kg wall ball
Female open: 10kg sandbag, 20" box, 3kg wall ball
Workout 2 - Strength
6 min Amrap: Sandbag over post
Weight 1: 24 reps
Weight 2: 12 reps
Weight 3: 6 reps
Weight 4: Amrap reps
post height: 44"
All reps shared as you loke between all 3 athletes. Tie break time will be taken when all 6 reps are completed on sandbad 3 and bag is returend to start position.
Male compete: 70kg, 80kg, 100kg, 120kg
Female compete: 50kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg
Male Open: 50kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg
Female open: 30kg, 40kg, 50kg, 60kg
Workout 3A - Mixed:
For time: (15 min cap)
30 - 20 - 10
sync axle/ DB thrusters
sync burpees over pad
... on completion of workout 3a workout 3b will commence with all reps completed within 15 min window countiong towards score 3B
2 athetes sync for all thruster and burpee reps
Male compete: 50kg Axle, 22.5kg DBs
Femal compete: 35kg axle, 15kg DBs
Male open: 35kg axle, 15kg DBs
Female open: 20kg axle, 10kg DBs
Workout 3B - Mixed:
15 min Amrap:
30 - 20 - 10
sync axle/ DB thrusters
sync burpees over pad
... into
10 - 20 - 30 - 40 - 50... so on
DB bench press
Squat jumps (KB)
Axle bar power cleans
... on completion of workout 3a workout 3b will commence with all reps completed within 15 min window countiong towards score 3B
2 athetes sync for all thruster and burpee reps
1 athlete working while 2 rest on remaining amrap
Male compete: 50kg Axle, 22.5kg DBs, 24kg KB
Femal compete: 35kg axle, 15kg DBs, 16kg KB
Male open: 35kg axle, 15kg DBs, 16kg KB
Female open: 20kg axle, 10kg DBs, bodyweight squats
