About This Competition

GET READY FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL NEVER FORGOTTEN GAMES!!

The Never Forgotten Games is a functional fitness event held in Northern California, hosted by the Redding Peace Officers’ Association, a 501(c) non-profit organization. Teams of 4 compete in five hero WODs designed in the names of five first responders who’ve died in the line of duty.

The families and agencies associated with the fallen first responders are invited to the event and get to experience first hand, the level of support our community can provide.

Divisions: (Four person teams)

  • RX teams (all male, all female, co-ed -2 female/2 male)
  • Masters teams (160+ Years of age combined between all members of the team with minimum individual age of 35.  Co-ed - 2 female/2 male) 

Structure: 4 scheduled main events with 1 floater

This is our 6th ANNUAL event and will be held on July 20th, 2024 at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Workouts will be released one at a time; starting one month before the event. 

***We're excited that you're going to compete at our competition! Please note that all sales are final (no refunds), but you can transfer your ticket to another athlete in the event that you are unable to compete for an unexpected reason.***

The Never Forgotten Games is ran entirely by donated time and money. The proceeds raised by the event are donated to the Blue Line Outdoors, Jeremy Stoke Foundation, and several local youth programs.

For Time...14 Minute Cap

 

  • P.1 & P.2 - 10 burpee liners (50 foot increments - 1000 feet)
  • Entire Team - 10 Worm cleans (alternating shoulders)
  • P.3 & P.4 - 500 foot partner carry (50 foot increments)
  • Entire Team - 10 Worm cleans 
  • P.3 & P.4 - 500 foot partner carry (50 foot increments)
  • 10 Worm cleans
  • P.1 & P.2 - 10 burpee liners

 

**1 burpee liner = down & back, burpee is done on each side. 

**Burpee liners- run to the far end, do a burpee, and then run back, do a burpee. Partners can either tag each other in or continue running. If tagging, must be a physical hand tag, If continuing, runner must touch ground behind the starting line. Partners can split the runs or one partner can do all. The burpee happens on each side. 

**Partner carries can be performed anyway i.e. fireman’s carry, piggyback, etc.). Partners can switch at any time. Partners can split the carry or one partner can do all.

  • 50 Wall Ball Sit Ups - 20# ball
  • 400ft sandbag carry each 100/75# (4x0ft increments) 

    In Remaining Time

  • Max Reps Dumbbell Thrusters 45/30# (one person working at a time)

 

    P3 & P4

  • Max Calories on Rower (both partners working)

 

05:00 - 10:00 SWITCH

**This event has TWO scores

  1. Total Reps of DB Thrusters
  2. Total caloies on rower

**Sandbag carries are at the same time but each partner must complete 400ft

**Wallball sit ups - Partners face eachother. Wallball must touch the ground on each rep. 50 total (25 each)

**DB Thrusters are one at a time and cannont begin until both partners are done with 400ft SB carry

**There will be two rowers at each station. Partners will row together. The total calories after the 10 minutes from both rowers will be score. 

 

WOD 1 (Gutzwiller) : 20 Minute cap

I go you go, complete round relay style

P1, then P2, then P3, then P4

-30 alt db snatch 50/35
-15 Box Facing BBJ over 20”
-30 Wall Ball Shots 20/14

 

**Two foot jump or step up on BBJ over. Step down is okay.

Scaled options:

14/10# wall ball to 8’ target
Lighter dumbbell 35/20

WOD 2 Fire Captain Stephen Andrews: 9 Minute EMOM

 

On the buzzer, P.1 will begin a max set of hang clean & jerks - 115/75#
At the 1 minute mark, P.1 will move to the pull up bar and begin a max set of pulling movements (see point scale) as P.2 begins their max set of hang clean and jerks
Once finished with pulling movements, athletes must return to their starting point.
The team will continue to flow in this manner until each person has done two sets of each movement, which equals 9 minutes

 

Hang C & J 115/75 = 1 rep is 1 point 

 


Pull Up movements:

Scaled Pull Up - 0.5 point

Pull Up - 2 points     

C2B - 3 points         

Bar Mup - 6  points

 


**This event has TWO SCORES

PART A - Reps of hang clean and jerks

&

Part B -Points for pull up movements based on point scale

 

**Regarding the pull up movements, each individual athlete must declare with the judge which type of movement they are doing when they approach the pull up bar. Athletes cannot deviate from the movement during that set. Athlete’s do not need to do the same movement on both attempts. For example, if they choose bar muscle ups for the first 1:00 attempt, they can do chest to bar pull ups on the second 1:00 attempt. 

**When lifting from the ground, athletes may perform a full power clean.

PART B is only for pulling movement score. See WOD 2 - PART A for full workout description. 

4 Rounds

  • 10 Worm shoulder to overhead
  • Each Person does one round of the following workout while the rest of the team holds the worm
    • 40ft handstand walk or 80ft crab walk (both Rx)
    • 50 double unders or 100 single unders

**If team holding worm drops it, the person doing the work must stop until team picks the worm back up. Worm can be held in a deadlift position if desired. 

**If athlete begins HS walk but transitions to crab walk, they must complete 80ft. Same with double unders to single unders

**Shoulder to overhead does NOT mean full extension. Just enough to get the worm over your head and onto the other shoulder.
