2020 OCR Virtual World Series Race 2 Details (June)
Special thanks to Obstacle Sports Canada OSC and the AAC members of the Americas for designing and testing Race 2.
FORMAT
5 km Run and 25 obstacles (3 km and 15 obstacles for under 10 years old and Para).
NOTE! Total distance including obstacles is 6,150m / 3.82M (1,230 m / 0.76M per lap). Running distance 5,000m + 1,150m for the farmers carry, burpee broad jumps and bear crawls. (3,690 m total for U10 / Para)
- One lap is:
- 100 m run (start)
- 10x Pushups with alternating shoulder taps
- 200m run
- 15m burpee broad jumps (out), 15m bear crawl (back)
- 200m run
- 200m farmers carry
- 200m run
- 10x step ups with weight
- 200m run
- 10x hanging lateral crunches
- 100m run (finish)
Repeat 5 laps for 5 km, 3 laps for 3 km
RUNNING RULES
Distance must be verified using a GPS enabled device or video on a standard athletic track, football field or similar. NOTE that football field lengths vary. Make sure you verify he distance! Please be aware that if you are tracking distance using a GPS enabled device, you will need to show 6,150 m total unless you pause your device at the moving obstacles.
If you are in a small space you may choose one of the following:
- Confined space: 100 Jumping Jacks per 100m equivalent. 200 JJ = 200m run
- 5x 5m (~16 ft) Shuttle Run laps per 100m equivalent. One lap is out and back (10m total). 10x 5m SR laps = 200m run
- 3x 10m (~33 ft) Shuttle Run laps per 100m equivalent (20m laps). 6x 10m SR laps = 200m run
OBSTACLE RULES
Push Ups
- Start arms straight at the top
- Chest to ground, up to straight arms
- Shoulder tap left hand to right shoulder and right hand to left shoulder each rep
- Finish with arms straight after the 10th chest to ground
- Open and kids (under 10 years old) can do pushups with knees on the ground
Burpee Broad Jumps - Chest to ground
- Jump up and forward
- You must push off with both feet
- Sequential steps are not allowed, e.g. left then right foot.
- Hands over head (not just over your ears: elbows must be 90 degrees or more)
Bear Crawls
- Body must stay parallel to the ground
- At least one hand and at least one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times
- No upright forward movement allowed. If you stop to rest you can stand but not walk or run
200m Farmers Carry
- 20 kg (44 lb) men (elite and age group)
- 15 kg (33 lb) women (elite and age group)
- 10 kg (22 lb) for 16 through 19 years old and Open
- 5 kg (11 lb) for U15 and Para
- Can be out and back laps so long as they are verified
- Weight can be any object(s) provided you hold them in your hand(s): use a bucket, water jugs, jerry cans, rocks, log, kettlebells, dumbbells, it's up to you!
- Weight(s) must be supported by your hands and must remain below shoulder height.
Step Up With Weight
- Verify the height of the Step Ups
- No less than 0.45 m (18”) high
- Both feet must touch the ground and touch the top of the box on each rep
- Use any step, box, wall, bench, rock, log, etc.
- Verify the height of the step with a ruler or tape measure
- 20 kg (44 lb) men (elite and age group)
- 15 kg (33 lb) women (elite and age group)
- 10 kg (22 lb) for 16 through 19 years old and Open
- 5 kg (11 lb) for U15 and Para
Hanging Lateral Crunches
- Grab hang bar and knees to chest alternating left + right each rep (20 total)
- Use pull up bars, door frame, rope or towel over a tree branch, playground structure, goal posts, etc.
- Open and kids (under 10 years old) ab crunches only, no rotation (10 total)
- Rest is OK between reps
- Elite must not touch the ground between repetitions, i.e. must do all reps in each set continuously.
PENALTIES
CATEGORIES
- Elite (no age requirements)
- 5-year age groups: 20 through 65+ (20-24, 25-29, etc.)
- 2-year AG: 10-11 through 18-19
- Open (no verification but no awards)
- Elite Team (automatically calculated)
- Para OCR: PO1, PO2, PO3, PO4 and PO5 classification details here
* Age Group is determined by the age you will turn in 2020 (your age on December 31, 2020).
RESULTS & RANKINGS
Individual results will be provided by country, continent and overall (for the entire world!)
Results and rankings are tabulated after registration closes each month.
Team rankings work the same way, the lowest score wins!
Video verification will be used to validate obstacle completion*. If you cannot prove completion, you may be excluded from the results and rankings. Videos are public and available for public review and verification.
WHERE
Anywhere! Distance is verified by phone, wearable GPS enabled app or national federation official*. Your running routes and obstacle locations are solely at your discretion, but you must upload screenshots of your run route, total distance and time to the digital results board.
All finishers receive a digital finisher medal, national, continental and global results and rankings!

HOW
- Register for free by signing in on they website.
- Compete anytime you want before the end of the month for each World Series Event.
- Record the distance of your race with a GPS enabled device (watch, phone, etc.) or on a standard track*
- Video your obstacle completions. You might need a power source, external battery, or more than one device if memory and electrical charge are an issue. You can use time-lapse provided each obstacle repetition can be easily verified. Post your video to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Login to our digital results portal and enter your time, video and the screenshot of your run under the Activities Tab (or image of your event verification form) the appropriate category.
- Post your video to Instagram Stories, Facebook, etc. and tag @worldocr #ocrworldseriesV
- For countries with limited access to technology and related infrastructure, please work with your national federation. Contacts your federation here.
*If you don't have access to a GPS tracker, you can use a measured athletic track (100m, 400m, etc.), football field, basketball court, or similar and show it in your video. Alternatively have an official from your national federation, national sporting association, National Olympic Committee, or credible witness verify the distance. Download the verification form below and upload as your screenshot.
The scoreboard is live and keeps accurate rankings as new times are entered, so make sure to check back throughout the day and send daps to your friends as they complete the workout.
