We are super excited to bring our APE STRONGMAN this year hosted at our APE Arena Riverside Location.


This is a chance for the strength athletes to test their skills through four events in a fun and welcoming environment that offers a chance to give it your all and leave it on the floor.

SCORING

Total score is the SUM of ALL 4 EVENTS.
Points from each event will be awarded by placment in each event. EX.1st 100 2nd 90 3rd 80 ect....
placements will be posted at completion of
each event.
Upon finalization of event the “Grand
Champions” will be announced and posted
along with 2nd and 3rd.

Entry and Check in

WEIGHT-INS / CHECK-IN

Start at 8am

You must Check in at booth BEFORE entering the building.
*We recommend arriving 1hr before your wave time.
 

**COMPETITION STARTS AT 10:00AM**

ENTRY -
Competitors are allowed in the gym at 9am
Spectators are allowed in at 9:45am. 
Entry is FREE for coaches & APE MEMBERS.
Friends and Family will need to purchase entry at Front Door. -Cost $5

Workouts

Every athlete will each perform 1 Log Clean n Press at set weight. Upon all athletes completed or non rep signal the remaing athletes will move on to round next round to lift again at a heviear load.

*the log weight will move up 10lbs per round form previous. This will continue to top three athletes remain. At that point the jumps will be 5lbs until a winner is had or a tie has accepted.

Athlete will have 1' running clock to perform lift once refree has acknowledged to athlete attempt clock has been intiated

 

Starting weight of log:

Male light) 95 lbs

Male medium) 125

Male heavy) 155

Female light) 55

Female medium) 85

Female heavy) 115

 

*Rules pertaining to event:

The log must be lifted from ground and put down n tire provided.

Once lift is intiated it must not come back down or lift attempt starts over

The ahtelte must perform a "push press" style lock out

*One time Bend of kness to straight leg locked elbow press out.

Elbows must lockout and athlete must demonstrate control and wait for down signal from referee 

Athlete will perform 15 Hammer slams followed by 20 meters Heavy tire flip. Once performed and referee has cleared for continuance athlete wiil repeat hammer slams and 20 meter of tire flips. 

Best time wins highest placement...

 

Male light) hammer weight: 20 lb

Male medium) hammer weight: 25 lb

Male heavy) hammer weight: 30 lb

Female light) hammer weight: 15 lb

Female medium) hammer weight: 20 lb

Female Heavy) hammer weight: 25 lb

 

 

*Specific pertaining rules:

Hammer swing(hands) must start below athletes hip before the accession and reach above shoulder before the decending part of the swing or no Rep.

Tire must start from a flat postion and end on opposite face flat beofre rep is called.

Tire must touch designated lines before athlete is released to second set of hammer slams or event is finished and recorded.

 

Athlete will lift 5 consecutive sandbags accending in weight to place upon platforms at 35 inches tall for time. Bag to table distance is 5 meters


-Initial 3 bags will be lifter from the GROUND.
*Bag #4 from 12” Box
*Bag #5 from 16” Box

*Rules pertaing to event:

Athlete will start with hand touching cone until time has started

Sand bag must be placed upon table firmly. Any drop off the athlete is responisble to pick back up and place on top once again.

Upon last bag being place on last table(firmly) Athlete must run back to touch cone.

At the point on touch time will be stopped.

Athletes will have a "blind draw" and will be placed into a 10 person bracket accordingly. This will be a head to head event of Tug o war. Each athlete will be placed on respective lines. Once signal is given each athlete will continue to pull rope  until flag in the middle has bee pulled to designated point of one athletes side.
