2020 Caffeine and Kilos Battle Royale

Welcome to the 2020 Caffeine and Kilos Battle Royale! We are disappointed that our Invitational had to be canceled this year, but excited about this new online competition! 

In a nutshell, the Battle Royale is a 2 person (male/female) team competition. There is a $1,000 winner take all cash prize on the line, plus a few other fun prizes. This event will take place September 24th-September 27th 12:00 PM - you have three days to get your workout done and video/scores submitted! 

Yep, you heard us right - workout. Singular. $1,000 to the winner of one, 30 minute, 3 score workout. Good luck!

Workouts

WORKOUT (ARMRAP) DESCRIPTION

Your score for workout 2 (AMRAP) is your total number of rounds plus reps at 20 minutes.

THE COMPLETE COMPETITION

There will be three scores in 30 minutes, each entered separately.

Upon Go:

There is a 20 minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds/Reps As Possible), followed by 10 minutes to find a 1 rep max clean.

  • Athlete 1 completes 20 thrusters.
  • When complete, Athlete 2 completes 20 thrusters.
  • When complete, Both Athletes perform 10 burpees over the bar (do not have to be synchronized).

Each round ends when both athletes have completed their tenth burpee.

Continue on for as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes.  At 20:00, you will then have 10 minutes total (until 30:00) for each athlete to find a 1 rep max clean. 

You will get 3 scores from this 30 minutes.

Score 1: The first two rounds of the AMRAP are FOR TIME!  The time on the clock when your second round is complete, is your score for Two For Time.

Score 2: Number total repetitions (60 per round) for the full 20 minute AMRAP is your score for AMRAP.

Score 3: Total weight of combined 1 rep max clean from Both Athletes. 

Thruster weight 95lb male / 65lb female 

Your score for workout 3 (Clean) is the Total weight of combined 1 rep max clean from Both Athletes. 

Athlete must be standing all the way up with barbell on the front of your shoulders and feet adjacent to one another when time expires.

Athlete's may lift at the same time, or separately. Bar must begin on the ground, and end on the front of shoulders with athlete standing tall.

Tiebreaker score is the weight of the lighter of the two athlete's cleans. (The heaviest, lighter barbell wins)

TWO FOR TIME DESCRIPTION

Your score for workout 1 (Two For Time) is your time at the completion of ROUND 2 of the workout.  When both athletes have completed their 10th burpee, the round is officially complete.

You know the burpee is complete when both feet land on the other side of the barbell.

Tiebreaker score is your time at the end of the first completed round (when both athletes have completed all 10 burpees).
