About This Competition

The 2023 Winter Soldiers Qualifiers!


You thought 2022 was good? Wait 'till you see what we have in store for 2023! Winter Soldiers is back again to finish off your competitive year!


Venue: Hall 2, NAEC Stoneleigh, Coventry, CV82LZ


This competition is for Same Sex Fours, Mixed Fours (2M & 2F) and Mixed Pairs. All teams will compete over 1 day at the finals. Any teams that sign up after 17/10/23 will have missed the deadline for a team nameboard.

Qualifying Numbers (Mixed Pairs):

Scaled x 28 Teams (Sunday 26th)

Middle Ground x 28 Teams (Sunday 26th)

Rx x 28 Teams (Saturday 25th)

Elite x 14 Teams (Saturday 25th)


All athletes will compete on just one day at the finals, to win a spot on the final GRAFT podium of the year!


Rx and Elite pairs will be competing for a cash prize pool and all other divisions that make it to the podium will receive a prize bag from a prize pot worth £1000s!


All pairs divisions will enter the event via qualifiers, the qualifiers will be completed as an individual and then a total score will be taken from the addition of all team members scores added together. This is to allow people to team up with others who may train at other gyms, have different work schedules etc! Qualifier workouts are completed to determine which teams of two make it through to the live finals, the qualifying numbers mentioned above are the number of pairs that will continue from the qualifiers to the finals in November.


There will be 3 qualifier workouts, 1 to complete per week across 3 weeks. The qualifier release schedule is:

Q1: 11th August

Q2: 18th August

Q3: 25th August

Athlete Briefing 08:10 AM

First Workout: 09:00 AM

Movement Standards

We ask that you enter the division that best describes the level the majority of your team are working at.


Fitness:

New for 2023, fitness is for scaled and beginner athletes only. Athletes will be new to the sport and will complete lower weighted and lower skilled workouts. Weights and movements that you could expect to see programmed in this division include: 

Single Unders

Jerk @ 45/30 KG 

Clean @ 60/40 KG 

Snatch @ 40/25 KG

Deadlift @ 80/50 KG

1 x Dumbbell @ 22.5/15 KG 

2 x Dumbbell @ 15/10 KG 


Throwdown:

The division for the intermediate athlete. Weights and movements that you could expect to see programmed in this division include: 

Double Unders (or higher reps of single unders)

Pull Ups

Toes To Bar

Jerk @ 70/50 KG 

Clean @ 80/60 KG 

Snatch @ 60/40 KG

Deadlift @ 100/70 KG

Overhead Squat @ 60/40 KG 

2 x Dumbbells @ 22.5/15 KG 

In some instances athletes may be given the option to choose to perform a higher skilled movement in place of another. 


Compete:

This division is for the more experienced Rx level athlete. Weights and movements you could expect to see programmed in this division include: 

Double Unders

All Gymnastic Movements ( Minimum of 2 members need to be able to HSW)

Jerk @ 85/60 KG

Clean @ 100/70 KG

Snatch @ 70/50 KG

Deadlift @ 120/85 KG

Overhead Squat @ 70/50 KG

2 x Dumbbells @ 22.5/15 KG


Scaled:

This division is for scaled athletes that are new to the sport. Scaled athletes will complete lower weighted and lower skilled workouts. Weights and movements that you could expect to see programmed for this division include:

Single Unders

Jerk @ 45/30 KG

Clean @ 60/40 KG

Snatch @ 40/25 KG

Deadlift @ 80/50 KG

1 x Dumbbell @ 22.5/15 KG

2 x Dumbbells @ 15/10 KG


Middle Ground: 

The division for the intermediate athlete. Weights and movements that you could expect to see programmed in this division include:

FLOW: IN ROUND 1 ATHLETES WILL PERFORM 9 WALL WALKS THEN 9 DEADLIFTS THEN 18 HANGING KNEE RAISES. IN ROUND 2 ATHLETES WILL PERFORM 8 WALL WALKS THEN 8 DEADLIFTS THEN 16 HANGING KNEE RAISES. ATHLETES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH ALL THE ROUNDS AS LISTED TO REACH THEIR FINAL ROUND WHERE THEY WILL COMPLETE 1 WALL WALK THEN 1 DEADLIFT AND THEN 2 HANGING KNEE RAISES TO FINISH THE WORKOUT.
