About This Competition

The Elite Fitness League’s mission is to provide high quality CrossFit competitions for Athletes in the wider CQ area in a supportive and community focused environment.

Established in 2014, the Elite Fitness League was born from the desire to provide regional CrossFitters an opportunity to experience that ‘game day’ feeling year round. While each affiliate has roaring talent within their walls, we believe that testing yourself against the unfamiliar is the key to securing the competitive edge that will see more athletes at CrossFit sanctioned events both in Australia and internationally.

On 27 August 2022, the Elite Fitness League is hosting the CQ TEAM CUP!

Atheltes can register as a team of four, with two males and two females in the following divisions:

  • Beginners
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

What are the movement standards for teams?

The movement standards will be released through Elite Fitness League's social media channels. Please checkout out Facebook page and feel free to send us a message if you have any questions. 

Refunds & Athlete Changes

In the event an athlete is unable to compete, you may sub in other athletes however we must be notified via email prior to the event elitefitnessleague@cqfitnessco.com.au

New team members will need to complete a waiver on the day before competing.

COVID-19

The event organisers will be following the QLD Governments industry COVID Safe Event Checklist and guidelines.

Please do not hesitate to email us at should you require any information beforehand.

Cashless Event

Due to COVID Safe requirements, we would prefer athletes and spectators to avoid using cash where possible.

You will be required to bring a debit or credit card with a chip-reader for contactless payWave transactions. 

Will the workouts be released prior to the event?

Yes all workouts will be released at least one week prior to the event.

Where is event located?

The event is held at CrossFit CQ in Rockhampton:

5/49 Archer Street

Rockhampton City QLD 4700

CrossFit CQ is located within the Kent & Archer Health and Wellness complex.

Will there be food and drink available to purchase?

The sure will!

The Green Eat café next door will be open all weekend selling coffee, healthy food and snacks as well as protein smoothies, juices and cold drinks.

There will also be water and Fit Aids available for purchase from the CFCQ reception.

Parking

There is street parking available surrounding the venue. We ask that you try to buddy up and carpool as best you can, and avoid parking in any surrounding businesses or residences.

What should we bring with us?

There will be an area in the complex car park for athletes to set up for the weekend. You are welcome to bring whatever you will need to compete and enjoy:

Tent / Gazebo
Chairs
Water / food / snacks
Workout gear

Event 1 | You Gotta Move to Make It

In 15 minutes [Total]:

Beginner Intermediate Advanced

In 4minutes:

15 Syncro Thrusters
9 Syncro Burpee over bar
Max cals on rower in remaining time

Rest 1minute.

In 4minutes:

15 Syncro Thrusters
9 Syncro Burpee over bar
Max cals on rower in remaining time

Rest 1 minute.

In 4minutes:

15 Syncro Thrusters
9 Syncro Burpee over bar
Max cals on rower in remaining time

Rest 1minute.

Complete as many calories as possible on the rower.

Repeat for a total of 3 times.

Workout Flow:


At the call of Go! The first MF partnership will move to their respective barbell. They must complete the required amount of Syncro thrusters, once completed the partnership will perform the syncro burpee over bar (see below for the standard). Once completed the required amount of syncro burpees the MF partnership can move to the rowers and the other MF partnership to enter the workout. Once the second partnership has completed their thrusters and burpees they can join the first partnership on the rowers. Athletes can interchange as much as they like on the rowers until the 4minutes expire. At that 4 min mark athletes return to the starting mat and prepare for the next round. Partnerships can alternate on who goes first as much as they wish.

Standards

*Syncro Thruster - Athletes Will clean the bar up. once both atheletes at extension with bar in front rack they can perform a rep. Must be at bottom of squat and then at full lookout at the same time.

*Syncro Burpee over bar – both athletes will start standing. To perform a synchronised rep, both athletes must be at the bottom of the rep together and then must pass over the bar at the exact same time. Beginner athletes MAY Step, however Intermediate and RX MUST double foot take off (jump).

*Rower – only 2 athletes rowing at a time. Can be split up however the athletes wish.

Workout Flow:
At the call of Go! The first male will move to their respective pullup bar to perform their two rounds. They must complete their 12 knee raises/toes to bar. Once completed, the same male will perform their 6 sandbag cleans. This first male athlete will then perform another round of this first rep format. Once the first male is complete his 2 rounds, the second male will begin their one round of 24 knee raises/toes to bar, before moving onto 12 sandbag cleans. Male one on completion may move to begin loading their bar for their first complex, however may not record any lifts until male 2 is complete. Once both males are complete, they will have the remainder of the 9 min window to find a max weight of the complex. At the 9 min mark, the males will be complete and the female athletes will commence the same format for 9 mins.

Standards

*Knee Raises - Feet must begin and pass behind the line of the upright each rep. For the rep to be complete, knees must come up to a 90 degrees to count.
* Toes to Bar - Feet must begin and pass behind the line of the upright each rep. For the rep to be complete, toes to bar must simultaneously make contact with the bar at the top to count.

*Sandbag Clean - Sandbag must be picked up and lifted up and over the shoulder. The hip and knees must be at full extension at the top of the lift before the sandbag passes over the shoulder. 

*Complex - Clean - May be a power, split or squat. The rep is completed with elbows in front of the bar in the front rack and the weight is stood up with knees and hips at extension. 
Front Squat - A front squat must be performed straight after the clean and will be accredited by the athlete hitting full hip crease below knee crease depth and then standing to full extension.
Jerk - Jerk may be a push, squat or split jerk. Rep is accredited when weight is fully overhead, stabilised and fully extended.

250 single unders (one person working at a time)

Workout Flow:
At the call of Go! The first partnership male and male or female and female (doesnt matter which partnerships starts) will move to their respective bar. They must complete the required amount of Syncro pull ups / row's. once completed all athletes will perform the syncro DB Snatches (see below for the standard). Once completed the required amount of syncro DB Snatches one person will advance and start acumulating Double unders / skips you must change every time the rope stops or you trip. Once the required reps have been completed continue the workout in the same fashion as it started until you reach the echo bike. It is one athlete on the bike at a time and once you get of the bike you CAN NOT get back on. When you have done however many calories you want to do you will run to the finih mat and wait for your team. When the last person on the bike completes the required Cals they sprint to the finish mat where time will stop.

Standards

*Syncro Pull Up / Inverted Row - Athletes must be at the bottom in full lockout at the top of the rep at the same time

*Muscle up - lock out at the bottom and at the top and your good to go.

*Syncro DB Snatch – All athletes will start standing over their DB. To perform a synchronised rep, All athletes must be at the bottom of the rep together and then must have the DB overhead at extension at the exact same time.

*Syncro DB OH Squat – All athletes will start with DB over their Head. To perform a synchronised rep, All athletes must be at the bottom of the squat together and then must have the DB overhead at extension stood up at the exact same time.

Event 4 – The Floater (why "The Floater"..... because it is S%#t)

In 5 minutes [Max reps and calories]:

P1 - Max Ski calories

P2 – Dead hang 

P3 - Max wall balls

P4 – Rest

 

On go, the workout may start once the dead hang is hanging.  When the dead hang drops all reps/calories must cease and all team members must rotate to the next station. The order must stay the same for the entire workout.
