About This Competition

TEAMS OF THE MIDWAY: 3 Person Teams


"Teams of the Midway" will be a one-day CrossFit Male/Male/Male and Female/Female/Female event on Saturday, April 9th, at CrossFit AMRAP in Lake in the Hills, IL. The competition will feature 4 categories, Rx Open (18+), Scaled Open (18+), Masters Rx, Masters Scaled (Minimum age 40). This competition is designed specifically for Teams of 3, this is not an individual event. As always, be prepared for the unknown as we shall test all areas of your fitness across a series of constantly varied, high-intensity, and functional movement workouts.


Athlete registration and check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday,April 9th. All athletes must check-in prior to their heat time for Event 1.


For competition updates, please visit CrossFit AMRAP's “Teams Of The Midway” event on the public Facebook page. You can also follow us on Instagram. All participants will receive a custom Teams Of The Midway Ice Shaker Bottle with their registration.


*Masters Age Group Guidelines: The Master's group pertains to your particular age on the day of competition. For example, if you are 39 years old and will turn 40 on or by April 9th, you will be eligible to compete in the Master’s age division if your partners also meets the age requirement by that date.


There will be divisions for the following team types:
- Male/Male/Male
- Female/Female/Female


Divisions:
- Rx Open (18+)
- Scaled Open (18+)
- Masters Rx (Minimum age 40)
- Masters Scaled (Minimum age 40)


*ALL athletes must be in the same division and classification (Rx OR Scaled).

*If all atheletes are 40+ and want to compete in the Open divsion you are elgible to do so.

*If only part of your team is 40+ you are not elgible to compete in the Masters division. You may participate in the Open Division.

*All scaled divisions may step over bar on burpees.

 

-Only one athlete will perform the Deadlift at a time.

-Two athletes will perform Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees. Both athletes must be at the ground at the same time.

-The athletes MUST clearly jump over the barbell.

-Both feet must be off the ground as the athletes pass over the bar.

-Stepping over is NOT permitted for RX.

-The athletes does NOT need to use a two-foot takeoff.

-Touching the barbell on the jump or step-over is a “no rep.”

-Scaled divisions may step over the bar.

-This WOD will have 2 scores.

-The first score will be the total completed reps of the 10:00 AMRAP. 

-The second score will be the total max weight lifted by all 3 athletes. Example: Athlete 1: Lifted 100#, Athlete 2 Lifted 200#, Athlete 3 Lifted 300#. The team score would be 600#.

-All athletes must have 1 successful lift or the team total points will be zero.

-Each team will only have 1 barbell.

-Clips must be completely on prior to attempting any Clean and Jerk. If clips are not on completely or if a team fails to put them on prior to the lift it will result in a no rep.

-The Clean may be a Power or Squat Clean.

-The Jerk may be a Push Jerk or Split Jerk. Strict Press and Push Press is not permitted.

-Box Jump Overs: Athletes MUST step down from the box for the rep to count. Rebounding into the next jump is NOT permitted.

WOD #2B - “Hold My Protein Shake”

1 Rep Max Clean and Jerk

 

 

-The score will be the total max weight lifted by all 3 athletes. Example: Athlete 1: Lifted 100#, Athlete 2 Lifted 200#, Athlete 3 Lifted 300#. The team score would be 600#.

-Synchronized Pull Ups. Each rep begins at the bottom of the pull-up, both athlete’s arms must be fully extended. The synchro portion of this movement is at the top, where 2 athletes’ chins must clearly clear the bar at the same time. If one athlete does not clear the bar with their chin, or if the athletes’ chin doesn't clear at the same time, it is a no rep. Dead hang, kipping or butterfly pull-ups are allowed, as long as all the requirements are met.
