About This Competition

 

The Competition
First annual CrossFit Competition benefiting the Morgan County Humane Society. 15% of resigistration will go directly to the Morgan County Humane Society. WOD 4 will be physical donations. Examples food, litter, collars and etc. point values will be assigned and posted by June 1st. 

Pricing! $160/team. Registration deadline is June 17th. No Refunds, substitions allowed. 

3 WODS & 2 Floaters

* All workouts/standards are posted in the "Workouts" section *

Divisions: M/M, F/F

Intermediate:You and your partner are able to RX some workouts and scale others, still perfecting stringing together gymnastics and working on cycling heavier loads. If you are RXing all workouts on a regular basis this competition isn't for you. (Note: If you have made it to CrossFit Quarterfinals, you do not qualify for this competition)

Scaled: You and your partner scale most daily workouts.

Athletes complete the following (One Partner Working at a time)

80 wall balls (20/14) [14/10]
70 axle bar deadlifts (95/65) [65/45]
60 chin over the bar pull ups [ring rows]
50 axle bar hang power cleans (95/65) [65/45]
60 toes to bar [hanging knee raises]
70 axle bar shoulder to overhead (95/65) [65/45]
80 wall ball sit ups (20/14) [14/10]

STANDARDS

WALL BALLS

  • Hip crease below parallel in bottom of squat
  • Ball clearly makes contact on the wall at or above the level of the target
    • 10ft for men, 9FT for women
  • Wall ball must settle if dropped to the ground
    • Cannot bounce wallball off floor, catch, and go into next rep.

DEADLIFTS

  • Shoulders, hips, and knees locked out at the top
    • No bouncing off the floor

PULL UPS/RING ROWS

  • Pull ups: Chin clearly over the bar and full extension of the arm at the bottom
    • Boxes or J-cups may be used to reach bar
    • Strict, kipping, or butterfly reps are ok.
    • Jumping pull ups are not permitted
  • Ring rows: Heels stay behind the tape line (directly under the rings) and rings make contact with the body at the top of the rep
    • Rings may be adjusted to athlete height
      • Bottom of rings may not be any higher than the top of the hip

HANG POWER CLEANS

  • Bar must be deadlifted to the hang position
  • Rep is completed at the top when knees and hips are extended and elbows break the plane of the bar
    • Hang can be anywhere above the knee
  • Bar will be PLACED on ground for transition. Hand offs are not permitted.

TOES TO BAR/HANGING KNEE RAISES

  • Toes to bar: Heels pass behind rig at the bottom and toes touch the bar simultaneously at the top
  • Knee raises: Heels pass behind the rig at the bottom and knees pass the hip crease at the top


SHOULDER TO OVERHEAD

  • Rep is complete when arms, hips, and knees are fully locked out at the top of the rep
    • Any variation is acceptable - Strict Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, Split Jerk
  • Bar will be PLACED on ground for transition. Hand offs are not permitted.

PARTNER WALL BALL SIT UPS

  • Partners will face each other with feet touching
  • Wall ball must touch the floor behind the head at the bottom of the sit up and then be passed to the partner at the top of the sit up
    • Reps are 1:1

** Both partners must cross start line at the end of the wod to stop the clock. 

**Axle Bars CANNOT be passed to partner and MUST be exchanged from the floor

**Gymnastics grips and/or lifting straps are not permitted on the axle bar movements. Gymnastic grips must be flipped on top of the hands or removed before for axle bar reps. 

5 minutes – Max distance row while non rowing partner handstand holds against the wall.

* Scaled divisons will hold a (35/25) bumper plate overhead instead of handstand holds.

 

STANDARDS

HANDSTAND HOLD

  • Athlete must be fully upside down with only the heels touching the wall. Full lockout of the arms, hips, and knees is required.
    • Nothing but the heels may touch the wall.

OVERHEAD PLATE HOLD

  • Athlete must be in full lockout with plate overhead. Arms, hips, and knees fully extended.
    • Plate may not go in front of or behind the head. Resting on the head is not acceptable.

ROW

  • Meters may only be accumulated while the non-rowing partner is meeting all standards of the hold. If form from the hold breaks, the rower must stop rowing.
  • Judge will cue stop and start of the rower when all points of the hold are met by the hand stand / plate hold athlete.
  • Athletes may transition any time during the 5 minutes.

 

*Score is total meters

Final event score on the leaderboard is bringing Morgan County Humane Society donation items with you the day of the competition. Each item donated will accumulate total points for score in this workout. This will be scored just like a workout, not weighted points.

**Points for donations will only count towards this wod/event. Points will be treated as "Reps" and the most reps, or points, will win this workout. The donations will not be points on top of the overall score. If you donate $500 in supplies does not guarantee 500 points overall. Top donor will get 1st for that event only. All WODs will have their own individual score.

**Spectators can bring donations however spectator donations will not be tallied up for team points! Each team must bring in their own donations. 

Points will be rewarded as follows (Each donation will be placed into one of these categories):

1 Point per pound of Dry Dog/Cat Food

1 Point per pound of Kitty Litter

1 Point per pound of Treats

1 Point per can of Dog/Cat Food

3 Points per can of Spray Cheese

3 Points per Nylabone Chew Toy

5 Points per Collar / Leash

10 Points per $20 Amazon Gift Card

3 min – Athletes will complete as many 25ft sandbag carries (150/100)[100/75] as possible in a 3 minute running clock.

Each 25ft section is 1 rep.

STANDARDS

SANDBAG CARRIES

  • Sandbag must be held in the bear hug position only.
    • Holding on the shoulder or below the waist is not acceptable
  • Both feet must clearly cross the designated tape line before the rep will be counted.
  • Sandbag may not be passed partner to partner. It must be picked up from the floor with each transition.
  • Athletes may switch anytime

8 min running clock

Athletes will have 8 minutes to establish a heavy unbroken snatch complex. Score is the combined weight of heaviest successful complex by each athlete.

COMPLEX:
1 snatch grip deadlift
1 snatch from the floor
1 hang snatch
1 overhead squat

 

STANDARDS

Barbell will start empty with plates stacked at the rig

DEADLIFT

  • Rep is completed when shoulders, hips, and knees are fully extended

SNATCH

  • Rep is touch and go from the floor right out of the deadlift. No grip adjustments.
  • Arms locked out overhead, hips and knees fully extended at the top
    • Squat or power is acceptable

HANG SNATCH

  • Hang anywhere above the knee
    • Squat or power is acceptable

OVERHEAD SQUAT

  • Rep is completed when arms are locked out overhead, hips and knees fully extended at the top
  • Hip crease is clearly below parallel at the bottom of the squat
  • Athlete must demonstrate control at the top when finishing the over head squat and wait for judge's cue before dropping the bar. 

 

** Barbell will start empty with plates stacked near the rig.

** Complex must be started before the time runs out in order to be counted (Deadliftweights should be lifted from the floor)

** No straps for gymnastic grips permittred. Tape is ok. 

** Athletes risk being disqualified from workout if barbell does not stay in their lane. 

** Athletes need to call out their weight to their judge before beginning complex

Two intervals of 6 minutes with 2 minutes of rest in between.

Athletes will complete part A for rounds and reps and part B will be 6 rounds for time.

*One partner working at a time. Athletes must tag in/out on Part B. 

Part B has a 6 minute cap.

Part A: 6 min AMRAP (switch as desired)
15/10 calorie assault bike
10 burpee box jump overs (24/20) [step overs]
10 dumbbell goblet squat (50/35) [35/20]

REST 2 MINUTES

Part B: 6 rounds for time (partner 1 must complete all movements before tagging in partner 2 - Relay Style)
8 alternating dumbbell snatches (50/35) [35/20]
8 lateral jumps over dumbbell [line hops]
8 dumbbell box step overs (24/20)

STANDARDS

BIKE CALORIES

  • Athletes will start inside of the rig. Bike may be adjusted to appropriate height before beginning. 
  • Athletes will be responsible for resetting their bike in between rounds
    • Athletes may only begin accumulating calories after their judge has verified the bike has been reset and says go.

BURPEE BOX JUMP OVERS

  • Burpee - chest and thighs must touch the ground at the bottom of the rep.
    • Step down/up is ok
  • Box jump over - 2 feet must touch the top of the box before landing on the other side.
    • Athlete does not have to stand tall on the box.
    • Intermediate must jump, scaled may step up if desired.

DB GOBLET SQUAT

  • DB must be held by one head in the front of the body.
  • Hip crease must pass parallel at the bottom.
  • Hips and knees fully extended at the top.
    • “squat cleans” for the first rep are not permitted
  • DB may not be passed from partner to partner. DB must be on the floor to transition.

ALT. DB SNATCH

  • Rep is completed when knees and hips are fully extended and arm is completely locked out overhead.
    • Non-working arm may not touch the body at any time.
    • Each rep starts from the floor.

LATERAL JUMPS OVER THE DB/LINE

  • Rep is completed when both feet make contact on the opposite side of the DB
    • Two foot takeoff is required for DB and Line hops.

DB BOX STEP OVERS

  • Rep is complete when both feet make contact on top of the box and on the opposite side of the box.
    • Athlete does not need to stand tall on the top of the box
    • DB can be held in any manner.

**DB may not be passed partner to partner
**Partner must be waiting behind the line to be tagged in
**Both Partners must be inside of rig at the end of the wod for time to stop.
