About This Competition

Cyprus Throwdown is a three-day event taking place in the beautiful island of Cyprus from the 18th to the 20th of October 2019. The event is powered by Cosmos and is taking place for a fourth consecutive year. 570 athletes on various divisions will earn their spot in the finals, through the online qualifiers. Join us for an event full of spectacular challenges and remarkable athletes that you will not forget!

INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIERS

There will be three qualifier workouts.

Workout 1 to be announced on 01/07/2019. Submission deadline is 05/07/2019.

Workout 2 to be announced on 07/07/2019. Submission deadline is 12/07/2019.

Workout 3 to be announced on 14/07/2019. Submission deadline is 19/07/2019.

 

TEAM QUALIFIERS

There will be three qualifier workouts.

Workout 1 to be announced on 01/05/2019. Submission deadline is 05/05/2019.

Workout 2 to be announced on 06/05/2019. Submission deadline is 10/05/2019.

Workout 3 to be announced on 06/05/2019. Submission deadline is 12/05/2019.

 

FINALS

570 athletes will earn their spot in the finals, through the online qualifiers. Finals will take place in the beautiful island of Cyprus from the 18th to the 20th of October 2019.

 

PRIZES

Minimum of total prizes 20.000 euro.

 

LEADERBOARD

Online score tracking will be provided by Competition Corner.

  • 30 calories on the rower
  • 30 wall ball shots
  • 30 deadlifts

 

SCORE: total number of reps completed.

TIE BREAK: time to complete the first round.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 5th of July 2019, 23:59 EEST.

19.2 has 10 minutes time cap to complete for time 2 rounds of:

  • 7 cleans
  • 14 bar facing burpees
  • 42 double unders (84 single unders for SCALED, TEENS & ROOKIES)
  • 7 clean & jerks
  • 14 box jump overs
  • 42 double unders (84 single unders for SCALED, TEENS & ROOKIES)

SCORE: total time to complete the workout.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 12th of July 2019, 23:59 EEST.

RX  -  MASTERS 35  -  MASTERS 40  -  MASTERS 45

19.3 has a 8 minute time cap to complete:

3 - 6 - 9 - 6 – 3

  • squat snatches
  • bar muscle ups

SCORE: total time to complete the workout.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 19th of July 2019, 23:59 EEST.

 

MASTERS 50  -  SCALED  -  TEENS  -  ROOKIES

19.3 has a 8 minute time cap to complete:

6 - 9 - 12 - 9 - 6

  • snatches
  • chest to bar pull ups (female athletes pull ups)

 

ROOKIES: male and female athletes must perform hang snatches with empty bar and jumping pull ups

 

SCORE: total time to complete the workout.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 19th of July 2019, 23:59 EEST.

Workout 19.1 is an EMOM until failure of:

   thrusters

   pull ups

Complete both exercises on the same minute.

Start with 6 reps on each exercise.

Add 1 rep on each exercise every minute.

19.2 is a 12 minute AMRAP of:

   4 deadlifts

   8 box jump overs

   12 calories row

19.3 has a 9 minute time cap to complete:

   21 - 15 - 9

      alternate dumbbell snatch

      toes to bar

      wall ball shots

   50 double unders after each round

SCALED: 100 single unders after each round
