About This Competition
Getting the Rangatahi invoved in Functional Fitness
This is a Pairs Comp of which will have 1 adult and 1 child
We have put together 3 workouts that will test your child, yet give them a feeling of achievement. They are basic for all levels and great if your Child is new to functional Fintess. We want to create a competition where our Whanau can experience competition, give them something to work towards, build their confidence and lead them into a healthy lifestyle. This is a great competition for those just starting out, that need a goal, those parents wanting to share in their sport with their loved ones and to RISE STRONGER.
Divisions:
YOUNG WARRIORS: Adult + 9-12 year old
TEEN WARRIORS: Adult + 13-16 year old

Workouts
You go, I go
8 Rounds - 4 each
10 Ring Rows or 6 Pull ups
8 Deadlifts
6 Box Jumps/ Step ups

Flow of Workout will be Rangatahi (youth) and then Pakeke (adult) until each athlete has completed 4 rounds each.
You will choose between 10 Ring Rows or 6 Pull ups, you can not change your movement once start.
Athlete will start under the rig, then complete their reps of their chosen movement (ring row/Pull up). Next, the same athlete will then move to the barbell and complete 8 deadlifts (Rangatahi) and 12 reps (Pakeke).
Once finished, that same athlete will move to the box and either jump up or step up 6 times and show full lock out of hips and knees on the top of the box. Once completed, athlete 1 will TAG athlete 2, and they will repeat the process.
TAG must be made for the next athlete to start their Round.

Flow:
Rangatahi will start on the Rower; once they complete their assigned distance, adults will then complete their distance.
Next: athlete 1 will hang from the rig while athlete 2 completes the reps. (Adults will hang on the odd rounds and Rangatahi on the even rounds - the same athlete can not complete reps every round)
Next: both athletes will then synchronize the DB snatch at the top of the movement for 8 reps before moving back to the rower.

Athlete 1 will complete 5 Wallball Squat Cleans, then Athlete 2 will complete 5 Wallball Squat Cleans.
Next: Together both athletes will perform 5 Synchro burpees - chest must be on the ground at the same time and a jump must be performed at the top.
Next: 1 Athlete will complete 30 single skips and then Athlete 2 will complete 30 single skips.
Teams will continue this for 5 rounds or until time is up.
