About This Competition

Sitrep (n) - a report on the current military situation in a particular area
Sit Rep is a platform to bring awareness to situations that challenge veterans and pit-bull type dogs.
Sadly, we lose one active soldier a day due to war, but we lose on average of 20 veterans a day to suicide. It's also estimated that OVER 1.2 MILLION DOGS ARE KILLED IN SHELTERS ANNUALLY, MOST OF THEM PIT BULL TYPE DOGS.
These numbers are unacceptable.

Participate from anywhere! You can do these workouts from your CrossFit box, home gym, globo-gym or on base!

Why:
Sit Rep is a joint-operation from Barbells For Bullies and VETWOD to benefit organizations that pull shelter dogs and trains them up to be service or therapy dogs for veterans.
This event will consist of two workouts, with several divisions: RX, Scaled, and Fitness.
Rx - Higher weights, more intensity, more competition.
scaled - slightly less weight and slightly less technical movements, for the athlete familiar with crossfit type movements.
mASTERS- THIS DIVISION IS FOR ATHLETE'S 40+. mOST OF THE WEIGHTS ARE THE SAME AS RX AND SERVICE, BUT SOME MOVEMENTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED (IE STEP UPS AS OPPOSED TO BOX JUMPS).
SHirts are available at checkout and are the product of a collaboration with barbell voodoo - they will be shipped out in mid july, after the event registration is closed (people can sign up until 7/5 if they're last minute types). We will also have them for pre-sale on our website at www.barbellsforbullies.org/shop.
In addition to an online competition, for gyms/individuals that want to do more, we will have the options for gyms/bases/teams to sign up, raise money and awareness, and make an even bigger impact! We will also provide incentives for teams that hit fundraising milestones like 5.11 tactical plate carriers, sandbags, and much more! You can see the incentives here.

Video score submission is not required, but only athletes with video proof of their score and a timer overlayed (or in view) will be eligible for prizes. We, however, encourage everyone to get involved regardless of prizes. This is about helping veterans and pups!
