Event Four is the final test — a 30-metre ute pull that demands full-body power and relentless drive.
At the start command, athletes will pull the vehicle down a marked 30-metre lane using the assigned harness. Distance is divided into 5-metre increments, and only the front tyres must clearly cross each line for it to count.
Athletes have two minutes to complete the full distance.
If the full 30 metres is completed within the time cap, the score is calculated by subtracting the time taken (in seconds) from 90. The faster the finish, the higher the score.
If the athlete does not complete the full distance within 1:30 minutes, points are awarded based on the furthest 5-metre increment reached.
Finishers will always outscore non-finishers.
Weights:
Women Under 60kg - 100kg
Women Under 80kg - 125kg
Women Over 80kg - 150kg
Men Under 80kg - 160kg
Men Under 100kg - 190kg
Men Over 100kg - 220kg
Event Two is an eight-minute test of overhead strength and control under pressure. Athletes will work toward their heaviest successful two-rep shoulder-to-overhead within the time cap. Any variation is permitted — strict press, push press, or split jerk — provided both reps are completed to full lockout with control.
Athletes may take as many attempts as they like within the eight minutes, building weight strategically. Reps do not need to be touch-and-go, and athletes may re-rack and rest as needed during the time window. To count, two successful reps must be completed at the same weight. A single rep does not count.
Scoring is based solely on the heaviest weight successfully lifted for two reps before the time cap expires. No partial credit is awarded.
This event rewards smart loading, efficient recovery, and confident overhead execution.
Event Three is a two-minute test of brute strength, movement efficiency, and composure under fatigue.
At the start of the time cap, athletes will lift the yoke and carry it down the lane. Distance is marked in 3-metre increments, with each completed increment earning points. Only the front of the yoke must clearly pass the marked line for the distance to count.
Once the required distance is reached, athletes will complete 5 Sandbag Over Bar reps before returning to the yoke. Sandbags are positioned at both ends of the lane. Each sandbag must pass over a 1.2-metre bar — not around — to be counted. Five sandbag reps must be completed at each end, before the athelte can return to the yoke, with each successful rep worth one point and the 3m incriments being counted as 1 rep.
Athletes may continue accumulating distance and sandbag reps until the two-minute time cap expires.
Women Under 60kg - 110kg yoke,
Women Under 80kg - 120kg yoke,
Women Over 80kg - 130kg yoke,
Men Under 80kg - 140kg yoke
Men Under 100kg - 160kg yoke
Men Over 100kg - 180kg yoke
Event One – Primal Ascent (Deadlift Ladder) is a fast-paced, two-minute strength test designed to reward both absolute power and smart decision-making.
At the start of the time cap, athletes must complete three ascending deadlift bars in order. Each bar must be successfully lifted before progressing to the next — no skipping and no going backwards. Once all three bars are completed, the remaining time becomes an opportunity to score additional points.
Athletes must choose one bar and perform as many extra reps as possible before time expires. Once a bar is selected for the max-rep portion, it cannot be changed. Scoring begins with the total weight successfully lifted across the three bars.
In the remaining time, each additional rep earns kgs based on the bar selected: 5kg per rep on Bar 1, 10kgs per rep on Bar 2, and 15kgs per rep on Bar 3. Final score equals total weight lifted plus max-rep kilos. Strategic bar selection under fatigue will determine who climbs the ladder and who gets left behind.
