About This Competition
Day 2- Fitness Race of the BIG Weekend 2024
We’re combining running with functional fitness exercises for a fitness race that is accessible to many.
The BIG weekend Fitness Race starts with a run and then 10 different functional exercise stations, each followed by another run.
The Fitness Race
400m run
Weighted plate sit ups - 100 reps - (Female: 5kg plate / Male: 10kg plate)

KB Deadlift - 100 reps - (Female: 16kg KB / Male: 20kg)

Bodyweight lunges - 120m

KB Suitcase carry - 240m - (Female: 24kg / Male: 28kg)

HRPU - 60 reps Female / 100 reps Male

DB snatch - 100 reps - (Female: 7kg / Male: 12.5kg)

Plate Oh carry - 240m- (Female: 10kg / Male: 15kg)

400m run
Weighted plate sit ups - 100 reps - (Female: 5kg plate / Male: 10kg plate)

Bodyweight lunges - 120m

Bodyweight squats - 100

Movement standards
- Weighted sit ups- start with back on floor, racer can hold plate on chest or out in front or above head, rep is counted when racer sits completely upright. Next rep starts when racer’s back hits the floor
- Burpees- chest touches floor, racer stands up full extended and hands come behind or above head (clap isn’t mandatory), rep is counted when racer jumps vertically.
- Deadlifts- KB is picked up off the floor and rep is counted when body is fully extended
- Walking lunges- racer must complete 2 lengths of walking lunges. Knee must touch the floor to be counted. If racer fails to do this, they must go back to their point of failure before carrying on
- Suitcase carry- pick up KB in one hand and complete 4 lengths. KB can be placed down to swap hands if required
- HRPU- In full plank lower to the ground, visibly release hands and push up again. No kneeling push ups allowed.
- DB snatch- pick the db up off the ground and put above your head, as one rep. DB must fully touch the ground before next rep above head.
- OH carry- pick up plate and put above head. Walk/run with plate above head for 4 lengths. If the plate is dropped, then racer must go back to point of failure and put plate above head before starting again
- Bear crawls- racers must complete 2 lengths of bear crawls. Only hands and feet touching the floor during the length. If the racers fails this, they must go back to the point of failure.
- Squats- below parallel - hips below knee crease. Fully extend at the top.

Mixed pairs use male weights.
It is you go i go (YGIG) with the station exercises. One person in your pair will work, while the other rests.
