About This Competition

Get ready for the first ever Shelton Athletics Summer Slam — our in-house summer competition built for fun, community, and a little friendly chaos.

Athletes will compete in same-sex partner teams across 3 events, with RX, Scaled, and Just For Fun divisions available — making this competition accessible for every level of athlete.

Whether you’re looking to throw down, challenge yourself, or simply have a blast with your training partner, Summer Slam is all about bringing the Shelton Athletics community together for an unforgettable day.

12 Minute Time Cap

For Time:

600m Run

30 Alternating Synchro Dumbbell Snatches (50/35)

400m Run

20 Synchro Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell

200m Run

100 Double Unders

 

Partners must run together.

Work on station cannot start until both partners return from run. 

All non-synchro work may be divided as needed.

Synchro dumbbell snatches are synchronized at full lockout overhead.

Synchro burpees are synchronized at the bottom when both athletes’ chests touch the floor.

For snatches, each rep starts with both heads of the DB in contact with the floor.

Partners must face each other during lateral burpees.

Both partners must complete at least 1 double under.

 

Scaled:

12 Minute Time Cap

For Time:

600m Run

400m Run

20 Synchro Lateral Burpees Over Dumbbell

200m Run

200 Single Unders

 

Partners must run together.

Work on station cannot start until both partners return from run. 

All non-synchro work may be divided as needed.

Synchro burpees are synchronized at the top when the athletes jump and high five

Both partners must complete at least 1 single under.

50 Thrusters (95/65)

 

One partner works at a time.

Partners may switch at any time.

Score = total reps completed in 10 minutes.

 

Scaled:

10 Minute AMRAP

50 Knees to Chest

50 Box Jump Overs (24/20)

50 Thrusters (45/35)

 

Step-ups permitted on box jump overs.

Knees must come above hip crease for knees to chest.

One partner works at a time.

Partners may switch at any time.

Score = total reps completed in 10 minutes.

10 Minute AMRAP

50 Hanging Knee Raises

50 Box Step Overs (20/16)

50 Dumbbell Thrusters (20/15)

 

One partner works at a time.

Partners may switch at any time.

Score = total reps completed in 10 minutes.

 

RX & Scaled:

6 Minute Window:

Both partners will establish a 1RM complex of:

2 Deadlifts

2 Hang Cleans

2 Shoulder to Overhead

 

Complex must be completed unbroken.

Hang cleans may be power or squat.

Shoulder to overhead may be strict press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk.

 

Score = total of both teammates heaviest successful complex
