About This Competition
Welcome to Bear Cave Brawl!
The first event at Osos Negros Gym, we are thrilled to throw this event and hope that you enjoy the experience we are trying to create. For details on divisions please scroll down below.
Event Dates and descriptions for the dates are posted below make sure you read carefully because there will be two different dates depending on the division you are in.

RX DIVISION requirements
This is our “Fire Breather” and “Intermediate” division.
You are RX if you can perform the following movements, and move the following
weights without an issue.
- Bar Muscle ups
- Rope Climbs
- Pull ups
- Toe to Bar
- Power Snatch (135/95)
- Clean & Jerk (185/115)
- Thrusters (135/95)
- DB Efficiency (50/35)
- Bench Press (155/85)
- Wall ball (20/14)
Note: These weights reflect most of the weights used in the work outs.
Scaled DIVISION REQUIREMENTS
This is our “Scaled” division this is programmed for beginner and almost intermediate athletes .
You are Scaled if you can perform the following movements, and move the following
weights without an issue.
- Pull Ups
- Supine Pull ups
- Kettlebell swings
- Power Snatch (95/55)
- Clean & Jerk (135/95)
- Thrusters (95/65)
- DB Efficiency (35/20)
- Bench Press (115/75)
- Wall ball (14/10)
Note: These weights reflect most of the weights used in the work outs.
Important Dates
Our competition will be hosted throughout two days however it will be divided by these two days for both divisions.
March 28: This will be the date for the scale division
March 29: This will be the date for the RX division
Schedule for the days will be posted a week before the competition
Events
Events 1 & 2 will be announced March 4 & March 5
Events 3 & 4 will be announced March 11 & March 12
Final will be announced a week prior to the event.
You are guaranteed four events the final will cut to top 4 pairs

At the call of 3 2 1 athletes will perform the following couplets
RX: For Time

Details RX:
At the call of 3 2 1 Both athletes will run across to their bench at which time they will tap the bar and then partition into whatever order they prefer to break up the work out.
Bench Press: Contact at the chest is required when the bar is coming down, and full extension of the elbows must be reached in every single rep in order for it to count.
Judges will keep an eye on athletes how ever neither partner is allowed to spot their partner on the bench, no other contact is allowed on the bar other than the person performing the bench press unless he or she calls for a spot at which case it will be considered a no rep.
Rope Climbs:
Any rope climb style is permitted, in order for the rep to count the athlete must clearly touch the top of the beam, and must come down in a controlled manner to the marker.
Details Scaled:
At the call of 3 2 1 Both athletes will run across to their bench at which time they will tap the bar and then partition into whatever order they prefer to break up the work out.
Bench Press: Contact at the chest is required when the bar is coming down, and full extension of the elbows must be reached in every single rep in order for it to count.

Kettlebell swings:
kettle bell swings must reach full extension at the top, this including hips, knees, and elbows. Russian kettlebell swings are NOT permitted. Athletes must put their kettlebells down in a controlled manner when they are done otherwise their last rep will not count.
Osos Strong
At the call of 3 2 1 both athletes will step up to their platform and will have 7 minutes to find a 1 Rep Max Clean.
Details:
The bar will be empty at the the call of 3 2 1, both athletes will load the bar to their desired starting weight,
Athletes may assist each other with loading and unloading the bar.
Once the bar is loaded the weight of the bar cannot decrease from the lifted weight. Therefor if partner A cleans 225, partner B must clean 225 or anything higher than 225.
Their judge is NOT permitted to assist them in any way, but may move their bar in case of being in danger of contact with another athletes platform,
All styles of clean are permitted (Power, Squat, Split). There will be fraction plates included athletes are highly encouraged to use them, because there will be NO tie breaker.
The bears cave
At the call of 3 2 1 athletes will go through the following event
Part 1
(3/4 Minute Cap)
40 Calorie Assault Bike
30 Calorie Row
If athletes complete Part 1 before Cap they move on to Part 2

30 Wall Balls
20 Synchronized Toe to bar/ Knees to chest

Details Both Divisions:
At the call of 3 2 1 athletes will sprint to their Bike and perform 40 Calories between Both of them, then they will proceed to the rower and perform 30 Calories Between both(10 Calories Minimum Per Athlete) There is a 4 minute cap for this first part if athletes fail to complete this part they are done with the event,
If athletes complete part 1 successfully, they then move on to part 2 where they will do 30 wall balls between both and 15 synchronized pull ups or supones pull ups.
Wall balls:
hip crease below the knee full extension at top ball must clearly pass the 10/9 foot mark.
Toe to Bar:
Athletes must start in a hanging position, both athletes feet must make contact at the same time with the bar in order for the rep to count. Any style of grip is permitted.
Knees To Chest:
Athletes must start in a hanging position, both athletes knees must make contact at the same time with the chest in order for the rep to count. Any style of grip is permitted.
The bear standard
At the call of 3 2 1 both athletes will run to their barbells and complete the following triplet.
For Time
Partner A
15 Clean & Jerks
15 Snatches
Partner B
15 Snatches
15 Clean & Jerks
Then both will accumulate reps to finish off 30 Bar Muscle ups / Pull ups

Weights for Scaled:
95 Male
55 Female
CAP 8 Minutes
Details RX:
Both athletes will stand together in their starting platform and run to their barbells at the call of 3 2 1, once they reach their barbells, partner A will begin with Clean & Jerks, while partner B begins with Snatches. Both athletes are working simultaneously on the barbell.
Once both athletes are done with their 30 reps on the barbell they will both move on to the bar muscle ups in which only one athlete works at a time to accumulate the 30 Reps.
All styles of both lifts are permitted,
(Squat, Split, Power) Both athletes are only allowed to do their 30 reps on the Barbell. You may do as many bar muscle ups as you like as long as both partners do at least five.
Details Scaled:
Both athletes will stand together in their starting platform and run to their barbells at the call of 3 2 1, once they reach their barbells, partner A will begin with Clean & Jerks, while partner B begins with Snatches. Both athletes are working simultaneously on the barbell.
Once both athletes are done with their 30 reps on the barbell they will both move on to the pull ups in which only one athlete works at a time to accumulate the 30 Reps.
All styles of both lifts are permitted,
(Squat, Split, Power) Both athletes are only allowed to do their 30 reps on the Barbell. You may do as many pull ups as you like as long as both partners do at least five.
The reverse thRuster
At the call of 3 2 1 Athletes will perform the following triplet
Partner A:
18, 8/8, 14, 6/6
Barbell & Dumbbell Thrusters
Partner B:
9/9, 16, 7/7, 12
Dumbbell & Barbell Thrusters
Both Partners:
16, 20, 24, 28
Synchronized Bar facing Burpees
Weights RX:
105/65
50/35
Weights Scaled:
65/45
35/20
CAP 13 Minutes
Details Both Divisions:
At the call of 3 2 1 both athletes will run to their work area. At which point Partner A will begin with his/her set of thrusters with the barbell. Once partner A is done with thrusters Partner B will do 9 Thrusters with one arm and 9 Thrusters with the opposite arm. When both partners are done with the first set of thrusters they will move on to the burpees, and then continue this sequence until they finish.
Thrusters:
Hips crease below the knee, full extension at the top, opposite arm may not touch the body when doing the one arm thrusters.
Burpees:
Both athletes must touch the floor at the same time, RX is required a two foot take off at the jump. Scaled is not.
