About This Competition

***THE PATRIOT GAMES hosted by Havasu CrossFit***

On January 28, 2023 HXF will be hosting our 8th annual Holiday Hangover Throwdown. A fun, functional fitness competition that will give you a good reason to stay on track this holiday season.

Teams will consist of 2 males or 2 females. There will be Rx, Scaled and Masters (40+) divisions.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the Rx division. Trophies and other prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the Scaled and Masters divisions. Registration includes a shirt/tank for each team member.

True fitness is about being balanced and prepared for the unknown. You will need a well rounded team that can excel in all facets of fitness and strategy.

Each team will complete three WODs with the top four/five teams in each division moving on to the final WOD. **See standards below** Registration closes January 6th and DIVISIONS WILL BE LIMITED TO 12 TEAMS "FIRST COME FIRST SERVED" so grab your spot ASAP!

Experienced Judges Are Also Needed (preferably CFL-1 and/or CrossFit judges cert) *** Judges will receive a free t-shirt/tank and a free lunch the day of the event. If interested in judging Please contact Brian @ 928-412-1401.

Workouts

“Cleans and American Dreams”

WOD 1: (6 min time cap)

Take 6 min to build to max weight of the following complex: 2 Hang Squat Cleans + 2 Squat Cleans. Must hold onto barbell for entire complex with touch and go reps for the complex to count.

‘’Uncle Sam’s Rollercoaster”

WOD 2: (12 min time cap)

For Time:

40 Calorie Assault Bike

50 Chest to Bar Pull-Ups (RX)/Pull-Ups (Scaled)

60 Single Dumbbell Overhead Reverse Lunges (50/35lb RX) (35/25lb Scaled)

50 Toes to Bar (RX)/High Knees (Scaled)

40 Calorie Assault Bike

Partners may split the reps however they would like but both partners MUST do at least 1 rep of every movement.

“Make AMRAPs Great Again”

WOD 3: (8 min)

8 min AMRAP:

20  Drag Rope Double-Unders (RX) 40 Singles (Scaled)

10 Single Dumbbell Box Step-Overs (50/35lb RX) (35/25lb Scaled)

10 Hand Stand Push-Ups (RX)/ Hand Release Push-Ups (Scaled)

Partners alternate movements to complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 8 minutes. Only 1 partner working at a time.

“Bleeding Red, White and Blue”

FINAL WOD 4: (6 min)

2 min AMRAP: Snatch (135/95lb RX) (95/65 Scaled)

2 min AMRAP: Row Calories

2 min AMRAP: Lateral Burpees Over the Rower

Partners will try to complete as many reps as possible in each 2-minute AMRAP. There is NO REST between AMRAPs. Only 1 partner working at a time. Score is total reps combined from all 3 AMRAPS.
