About This Competition

 

Welcome to THE BATTLE OF THE BAY.

We're excited to anounce the first ever Battle of The Bay at CrossFit Coyote Valley. 

We have 3 Divisions available for all level of athletes making this one of the most inclusive Single day fitness competions anywhere.

 

Cost 

$100 individual 

$200 M/F Pair

PRIZES

RX Division 

Each Workout Winner- $100 M&F each

Competition Winner- $500 each

Divisions 

Rx Individual- Athletes who completed The Open Rx. All movements are on the table. Bring your A Game

Intermdiate PAIRS M/F- An exciting new Divisions which allows you to find a friend with whom you can mix and match your strengths. Most or all movements should be able to be completed between the pair. 

Scaled Individual- For novice friends and people who have never competed in fitness. *note this is still competitive but movements and weights will be similar to scaled movements in The Open.

 

 

Cap 24 teams, No other division cap

100 Athletes total 

Cash Prizes will be rewarded for average placement for 2 part workouts.

Scoring

Part 1

Combine HS Reps

Wall Walks are scored as 2 reps 

RX ONLY- If an ATHLETE DOES NOT COMPLETE PERSCRIBED NUMBER OF ROPE CLIMBS They are elimated from the workout after completing the next round of running and rowing. 

Ie if an athlete does not complete 3 rope climbs in round 3 they will complete the run and row in round 4 and then be eliminated from the event for rounds 5 and 6

Odd rounds 

2 rope climbs and 4 rope decends into max wall walks, 

Athlete A and B will alternate on the rope climbs/decends as they wish

After completing their 2 and 4 after they will alternate between completing 2 full RX wall walks and 

2 scaled wall walks for max reps.

 


Even Rounds

Partner A will complete a 200m Run while Partner B completes max calories then switch.

Once Partner B runs 200m then they can alternate on the rower as they wish until the 2 minutes is done

Then 1 at a time

Partner A: 40 dubs

Partner B: 60 singles 


Straight into Part 2


5 min for both individuals to establish 1RM OHS from ground 

Athletes share weights and time as they choose

1 set of 45s, 35s, 25s, 15s, 10s, 5s, and 2.5s will be available


Score 3: Reps

Score 4: Weight 

Right after Part 1 go Straight into Part 2

Odd rounds 

2 rope climbs and 4 rope decends into max wall walks, 

Athlete A and B will alternate on the rope climbs/decends as they wish

After completing 2 and 4 after they will alternate between completing 2 full RX wall walks and 2 scaled wall walks for max reps


Even Rounds

Partner A will complete a 200m Run while Partner B completes max calories then switch.

Once Partner B runs 200m then they can alternate on the rower as they wish until the 2 minutes is done

For time, 8 min cap 

1 partner uses RX weight, 1 partner uses scaled weight 


Partner A: 8 burpee DB box step ups 24/20 

Partner B: 12 hang squat cleans 

Partner A: 16 bench press 


Synchro:

20 sit-ups to wall ball

24 single DB goblet squats 

20 sit-ups to wall ball 

 

Partner B: 16 bench press 

Partner A: 12 hang squat cleans

Partner B: 8 burpee box jumps 24/20

 

1 Athlete will use the RX weight the for the entire workout and 1 athlete will use the scaled weight the entire workout. 

Both athletes will use 1 db for the db squats and syncronyzed at the top and bottom of the squat

Med Ball will be placed between the athletes feet, athletes must be syncronized with hands touching the ball at the same time, shoulders above or in front of the hips.
