Categories:

Ages 6-8 years (Kids mixed)

Ages 9-11 (Kids mixed)

Ages 12-15 (Teens mixed)

Teens will be mixed on leaderboard but girls will have slightly adjusted weights. 

 

Standards/Movements

Age 6-8: Rowing, running, box jumps, plate jumps, 2kg DBs, jumping pull ups, sit ups, 7.5kg Deadlift.

Age 9-11: All erg machines, running, box jumps, skipping, 4kg DBs, jumping pull ups, knee raises, 7.5kg - 10kg barbell movements.

Ages 12-15 Girls: All erg machines, running, box jumps, skipping, 7.5kg DBs, jumping pull ups, leg lifts, should be familiar with power cleans & snatch.

Ages 12-15 Boys: All erg machines, running, box jumps, skipping, 10kg DBs, jumping pull ups, leg lifts, should be familiar with power cleans & snatch.

Teens Only: Bonus point for Du's, kipping pull ups and TTB

 

Further Info

  • Free to spectate throughout the whole day.
  • Waivers must be signed online before being able to take part in the competition.
  • ALL judges and helpers are DBS checked with full safeguarding. 
  • Adults must be with athlete at all times throughout the day. 
  • Registraton from 8am - 8:45am
  • First heat to go at 9:10am

Workouts

3 X 3 MINUTE INTERVALS

100m Run (150m for teens)

6 Clean & Jerks

9 Wall balls

Max Burpee over bar

(1 minute rest between intervals)

 

 

Weights:

6-8 years: 5kg barbell, wall ball squats

9-11 years: 12kg barbell, 3kg wall ball

Teens: 15kg barbell, 3kg wall ball

 

Notes:

  • Any clean and jerk is permitted as long as the bar is locked out above head to finish.
  • 6-8 years: Athletes must stand up and show locked out legs on wall balls squats for reps to count.
  • 9-11/Teens: Squats must be below parallel for wall ball reps to count. Target height will be approx 6ft.
  • Chest to floor on burpees. Stepping and jumping over bar is allowed

Workout Notes:

  • 6-8 years only: Athletes can use their hands to assist themselves over the box if they wish. 
  • 9-11/Teens: Athletes must jump onto the box. Stepping down is allowed.
  • No requirement to change hands on DB snatch. Only 1 head of the DB needs touch the ground. 
  • Any style of skipping is allowed.
  • For line hops, both feet must clearly be over line for it to count. 
  • Judges will reset rowers each round and may assist the athlete on and off the machine if needed. 

Workout is for time - 7 min cap

Weights:

6-8 years: 2.5kg plate, knee raises

9-11 years: 5kg plate, knee raises

Teens: 10kg plate, leg raises

 

Notes:

  • Two feet on and off the plate for hops
  • Hands must touch the front of the feet and the floor behind head on sit ups. 
  • Knees must be 90 degrees or above for rep to count. Same rule for teens just with straight legs.
  • Plate GTOH starts with plate on the floor and ends with full lock out above head. 

As many rounds as possible - 6 minutes

4 Calorie Ski

2 Shuttle Runs

4 KBS

 

 

Weights:

6-8 years: 4kg KB

9-11 years: 8kg KB

Teens: 12kg KB

 

Notes:

  • Ski ergs will be reset by judges every round.
  • Judges may help athletes by giving them the handles ready to go.
  • Shuttle run length is approx 20m each way.
  • KBS will be right above head.
