The Rhome Gladiator Games
About This Competition
This is a Team of 2, same-sex competition located in Rhome, TX, just 10 minutes west of Texas Motor Speedway!
Join us at CrossFit OYL in our huge, brand new facility as we get ready to take on hosting our first public competition. We've run awesome 30 team in-house competitions for years now, and are excited to take it public and share our space with the local CrossFit community.
Divisions include Male/Male RX, Female/Female RX, Male/Male Scaled, & Female/Female Scaled.
Competition will include 4 guaranteed, fully scored workouts, and a 5th workout final for top teams only. {scroll to bottom for Movement Standards} Of the 4, you can expect 2 to be quicker & short, while the other 2 are more traditional length CrossFit workouts. Full workouts & standards to be announced on Sept. 10th, 17th, and 24th, and the final workout will not be announced until immediatley before!

No refunds will be issues for any reason (other than event cancellation). If a team member cannot compete for whatever reason, you may find a substitute team member to replace them, but you may not switch divisions.

Time Cap - 9 minutes
Athlete #1 will start the workout with the C2B or Jumping C2B Pull-ups while Athlete #2 is resting.
When Athlete #1 finishes their final BMU/JC2B they will move forward to the Devil's Press & Lunges while Athlete #2 may now start their Bar MU or Pull-ups.
Once Athlete #2 finished their BMU/PU, they may then join Athlete #1 on the Devil's Press & Lunges. Athletes may switch as desired to complete the remaining work, so long as Athlete #2 has finished their gymnastics.
The only minimum work requirement in this workout is that both Athletes need to complete their own sets of gymnastics before the team is allowed to finish. There is a scenario in which Athlete #1 could finish the entire workout by themselves while Athlete #2 is still on the bar muscle-ups/pull-ups. If Athlete #2 cannot complete their reps, those extra reps will be added to the score of CAP even if Athlete #1 finishes the lunges alone.
On A 6 Minute Clock...
Build to a Heavy Complex of:
1 Clean + 1 Jerk + 1 Front Squat + 1 Jerk
Scored is sum total of Partner 1's heaviest successful lift + Partner 2's heaviest succesful lift.
RX & SCALED will complete the exact same workout.
Tiebreaker is Fastest Total Time on Event 1 (Death Smiles At Us All).

TIME CAP - 12 minutes
Run will start & end in your assigned lane. Athlete #1 will run a full loop around the complex, back into the gym, around the cone, and back to their assigned lane.
Once Athlete #1 completes their 100th jump rope, they will tag in Athlete #2 to complete their set of jump rope. Once complete, they will move on to the rower to complete a 1km Row.

In order for any of the reps to count, the other partner MUST be holding the other barbell in a static hold as described. If the holding barbell is set down, then the other partner doing reps, must wait to continue their reps. Partners may switch places as desired at any time so long as the appropriate static hold barbell is being held. Synchronization on the burpees in only required at the bottom (chest touching) of each rep, but the rep is not scored complete until both partners are on the other side.

Athlete #1 will start with the Wall Balls at the call of 3,2,1,GO! Athletes may switch off at any time, BUT, in order to make the switch, a total of 5 Toes to Bar/Hanging Knee Raises must be completed before picking up where the other partner left off. These can be done all 5 by the incoming athlete, all 5 by the leaving athlete, or a combo between the two athletes. Continue in this manner until all reps are complete or the time cap is reached. There is no requirement for T2B/HKR in the switch from the 150th Wall Ball to the Bike IF it is the same athlete. If teams switch athletes after the 150th Wall ball to start the bike, then the T2B/HKR must be completed.
