CROSSFIT ® SID PAIRS IS A PAIRS COMPETITION FOR ATHLETES OF ALL ABILITIES.

More divisions, including teens and a mixed sex open pairs division.
New Cardiff venue.

Whether you’re new to competition or a seasoned pro, The CrossFit® SiD Pairs is for you! The events are open to all and there are no qualifiers. Bring your whole box!

The workouts don’t just challenge your individual fitness, but your ability to work as a team – competing with and for your best mate will push you further than you thought possible.
MOVEMENTS
CrossFit® SiD Pairs programming is designed for everyone, no matter your experience. We have removed complex movements that take months and years to refine. We test teamwork, how big your engine is, how strong you are and how tough your will is!
GYMNASTICS
Burpees, box jumps, push-ups, air squats, sit-ups, lunges, jumps, etc. Sometimes these movements may be weighted (sandbags or vests) and/or involve equipment, e.g. soft plyoboxes. There are no pull ups, ring dips, muscle ups, toes to bar, handstand walks, etc.
WEIGHTLIFTING
Deadlifts, power cleans & power snatches, front squats, push-press, thrusters, ground-to-overhead exercises, shoulder-to-overhead exercises, etc. These movements can be executed with barbells, dumbbells, medicine balls, slam balls, sandbags, or kettlebells.
Weights are kept to a level commensurate with the event’s aims but one repetition max tests are included to explore an athlete’s strength.
CONDITIONING
Conditioning is tested using indoor rowers, ski ergs and air assault bikes. Expect running!

Workouts
In 4 minutes establish a 1 rep max clean
Execution Regulations. It is the responsibility of the team to load their own bar. The smallest weight increment increase is 2.5kg. Athletes must confirm the weight on the bar with the judge before each lift. Athletes can make as many attempts as they want to set a 1RM during the 4 minutes allocated. The weight on the bar can be increased or decreased as the athlete sees fit.
Males pairs will use a 20kg barbell. Female and mixed pairs will use a 15kg bar for their attempts.
Post-Workout Action. Load barbell to prescribed weight ready to start workout 2.
