About This Competition
UNLEASH THE BEAST: CONQUER THE GAUNTLET!
ABOUT:
This will be our third year for the Gauntlet at RSCF. This same sex pairs competition will be on Saturday, May 18th and will include three workouts to test your endurance and strength. The day will end with the fourth and final duel, the Gauntlet.
WORKOUTS:
Workouts will be released on the following dates:
Workout 1- Feb 21st
Workout 2- March 6th
Workout 3- March 20th
Workout 4 - The Gauntlet will be revealed on the day of competition.
DIVISIONS:
Dragons (Heavy and Hard)
Maverick (Light and Fast)
Griffins (Masters - average age 50+ years)
Phoenix (Teens - ages 13 to 15)
To compete in the DRAGON division athletes should be able to complete the following:
- Snatch (for load)
- Wall walks**
- Dumbbells & Kettlebells
- 100/75# Sandbag
- 115/85# Thrusters**
- Echo bike
- Rower
- Shuttle Runs
- Toe to bar**
- Chest to bar**
To compete in the MAVERICK division athletes should be able to complete the following:
- Snatch (for reps)
- Wall walks (scaled)**
- Dumbbells & Kettlebells
- 75/50# Sandbag
- 75/55# Thrusters**
- Echo bike
- Shuttle runs
To compete in the GRIFFIN (MASTERS) division athletes should be able to complete the following:
- Snatch (for reps)
- Wall walks (scaled)**
- Dumbbells & Kettlebells
- 75/50# Sandbag
- 95/65# Thrusters**
- Echo bike
- Rower
- Shuttle runs
- Pull-ups**
- Toes above hips**
To compete in the PHOENIX (TEENS) division athletes should be able to complete the following:
- Snatch (for load)
- Wall walks (scaled)**
- Dumbbells & Kettlebells
- 75/50# Sandbag
- 75/55# Thrusters**
- Echo bike
- Rower
- Shuttle runs
- Pull-ups**
- Toes above hips**
**STOP! Are you worried about the starred movements above? Well don't be! There is no athlete work minimum. As long as one member of your team has the skill you can compete!
SHIRTS & TANKS:
Register by April 14th and receive a free t-shirt or tank with your registration.
Shirts and tanks will also be available for purchase after the event for $25 each.
REFUNDS & TRANSFERS:
All payments are final and there are no refunds, regardless of reason (injury, illness, change in work schedule, deployment, etc.). However, registrations can be transferred to another team/ athlete. Please contact us to make any changes to your registration.

Workouts
Dragon Division:
Snatch Ladder For Load
Athletes will have 40 seconds to lift on each platform, followed by a 20-second transition to the next platform.
Part A: Athletes will navigate through four bars, progressively increasing in weight.
Part B: Athletes will move to the final snatch bar in the sequence.
The workout begins with the barbell on the floor and Athlete standing tall
Athletes have 40 seconds to perform as many snatches as desired per platform.
Athletes can make multiple attempts during each 40-second working period.
Reps must be successfully completed before the end of the designated time domain.
Both squat snatches and power snatches are both permitted in this event.

Part A
Dragon:
Men- 95,115,125,135
Women- 65, 75, 85, 95
Part B
Dragon:
Men- 165
Women- 115
Part A Score: combined weight of the first 4 bars
Part B Score: combined weight of the 1st and 5th bar
Phoenix (Teen) Division:

Athletes will have 40 seconds to lift on each platform, followed by a 20-second transition to the next platform.
Part A: Athletes will navigate through four bars.
Bars 1 and 3 are the SAME WEIGHT.
Bars 2 and 4 are the SAME WEIGHT.
Part B: Athletes will move to the final snatch bar in the sequence.
The workout begins with the barbell on the floor and Athlete standing tall.
Athletes have 40 seconds to perform as many snatches as possible.
Athletes can make multiple attempts during each 40-second working period.
Reps must be successfully completed before the end of the designated time domain.
Both squat snatches and power snatches are both permitted in this event.

SCORING:
Score 1= combined number of reps completed at the stations 1-4
Score 2= combined number of reps completed at stations 1 and 5
All Divisions:
Three rounds for time with a 7-minute time cap. Each athlete must individually complete three rounds in a "you go, I go" style, alternating with their partner.

Equipment Weights:
Dragon Division:
Dumbbell: 50 lbs (men) / 35 lbs (women)
Kettlebell: 53 lbs (men) / 35 lbs (women)
All Other Divisions:
Dumbbell: 35 lbs (men) / 20 lbs (women)
Kettlebell: 35 lbs (men) / 26 lbs (women)
Score is the time taken to complete the three rounds.
Time for each athlete to complete three rounds OR Time cap is reps completed
Workout Flow:
Initiating the Relay: On the call of "Go!", one team member sprints down the course to perform the designated burpee movement and then retrieves the sandbag. The athlete carries the sandbag back to the starting line and places it in the specified area.
Movement Standards by Division:
Dragon Division (Sandbag weight 100 men / 75 women) (20 inch box Men and Women):
Burpee Movement: Burpee Box Jump Over
Athletes may choose to jump or step into the plank position. The chest and thighs must touch the ground at the bottom of the burpee before returning to an upright position.
Athletes must have a two foot takeoff for the box jump. Both feet must land on the top of the box. No jumps corner to corner. Standing tall is not required.
Athletes may jump down or step down from the box.
- The rep is credited to the athlete when the athlete has moved to the opposite side of the box.Sandbag Carry:
- The sandbag must be carried over the box on the return lap. Sandbag may be held/carried in any position as long as it DOES NOT touch the box.Both feet must touch the top of the box. ONLY your feet may touch the box.
If the sandbag is dropped during the carry the athlete may pick it up and begin to advance the bag forward.
If the sandbag is dropped DURING THE BOX OVER the athlete must pick up their bag, return to the starting side of the box, and try again. The bag must make it over the box in the arms of the athlete.
A rep is credited to the athlete once the sandbag is placed in the designated area.
All Other Divisions (75 men / 50 women):
Burpee Movement: Lateral Burpee over designated line.
Athletes may choose to jump or step into the plank position. The burpee must be performed laterally to the designated line. Athletes must be parallel with the line. The chest and thighs must touch the ground at the bottom.
- The rep is credited to the athlete when the athlete has moved to the opposite side of the designated line.
Sandbag Carry:
Sandbag may be held/carried in any position. If the sandbag is dropped during the carry the athlete may pick it up and begin to advance the bag forward.
A rep is credited to the athlete once the sandbag is placed in the designated area.
