About This Competition

The Butterfly Effect is a fitness competition for women pairs.

This is a live Throwdown held on the 31st of August, 2019 on the fabulous Gold Coast. This event is a year on year sell out success so its important you are ready to register on May 16th to avoid disappointment.

We have 3 divisions that will be suitable for the novice athlete through to the most advanced and have also introduced a Masters division.

For those that are lucky enough to be at the top of the leaderboard, prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division.

This is in proud support of the Butterfly Foundation with our aim to gain more awareness against negative body image and eating disorders by showcasing just what our bodies are capable of, rather than what they look like. Join us by celebrating with a fantastic show of fitness and fun!

The Butterfly Effect Throwdown will be donating $10 of all ticket sales to the Butterfly Foundation.

Workout A

Athlete 1 completes for time (4 min time cap):

3 rounds of:

10 back squat @ 40kg
10 Toes to Bar

 

Workout B

At the 4 minute mark Athlete 2 completes for time (4 min time cap):

3 rounds of:

10 backsquats @ 40Kg
8 Handstand Push-ups

With an 8 Minute Running Clock

Workout A

Athlete 1 completes for time (4 min time cap):

3 rounds of:

10 back squat @ 40kg
10 Toes to Bar

 

Workout B

At the 4 minute mark Athlete 2 completes for time (4 min time cap):

3 rounds of:

10 backsquats @ 40Kg
8 Handstand Push-ups

Complete the following for time (7 minute time cap):

 

12 - 9 - 6 - 3 - 6 - 9 - 12

Snatch (40kg/35kg/20kg)
Burpee Box Jump (24"/20")
*(Beginners - box jump/step @20")

 

6 MINUTES TO FIND BOTH ATHLETES 5RM TOUCH AND GO CLEAN

* SCORE IS TOTAL CUMULATIVE LOAD (ATHLETE A + ATHLETE B)
* POWER OR FULL ALLOWED
* WEIGHT CANNOT GO DOWN

For Time - sharing reps between the two (10 Minute Time Cap)

25 Thrusters @ 35Kg
25 Pull Ups
25 Shoulder to Overhead @ 35Kg

10m Handstand Walk Each or 3 x 15kg Plate Overhead walking Lunges

20 Cal Row Each

20 Synchro Dumbbell Snatch @ 15kg

20 Ground 2 Shoulder Deadball @ 35Kg

20 Synchro Wall Balls @ 6kg

10 Cal Row Each
