FAQs

Q: How old do partners need to be?

A: The combined ages need to be 70 or higher

Q: What if I have a birthday between now and the competition?

A: Age should be based on how old you are at time of competition.

Q: Which division should we register for?

A: Using the following guidelines:
Intermediate athletes may do some benchmark workouts as Rx, but also may scale some workouts. Workouts in this division will do things like jumping pull-ups, clean and jerks for reps at 95/65#, etc.

Rx athletes can do things like chest-to-bar pull-ups and clean and jerks for reps at 135/95#.

Q: Will there be space for tents?

A: Yes, we have a large parking lot that has plenty of room for both parking and tents. In the event of inclement weather, we have a hallway to camp out between heats.

Q: Do you offer refunds?

A: We offer 50% refunds up to 14 days out from competition.

Workouts

"Don't Stop Row-lievin'"

Just a small-town comp, rowin' in a lonely gym… 🎤

AMRAP in 15 minutes (One Person Working At a Time, Partners May Split Reps As Needed):
🔹 50 Calorie Row
🔹 40 Single-Arm DB Snatches (50/35 Rx, 35/25 Int)
🔹 30 Burpees Over Rower
🔹 20 Sandbag Over Bar

Score = Total Reps Completed in 15 minutes

- Rx Men: 50# DB, 150# sandbag over 48" bar
- Rx Women: 35# DB, 100# sandbag over 42" bar
- Int Men: 35# DB, 100# sandbag over 48" bar
- Int Women: 25# DB, 60# sandbag over 42" bar

🔎 Movement Standards and Notes:

✔️ Split reps however you like, only one person working at a time except for the sandbag station (see below)
✔️ Rowing = full calories must register before moving on
✔️ KB/DB must alternate arms
✔️ Burpees = alongside rower, step or jump OK. Rep is completed once jump or step over is completed
✔️ For the sandbag station, you may stand on either side of the bar and pass the sandbag over the bar (letting it drop to the floor each time), or you may both be on the same side and assist each other with the sandbag for each rep
✔️ Sandbag must clearly clear over the top of the bar. It may make contact with the bar and/or roll over the top. It must drop to the ground on the other side for the rep to count (no passing it into each other's arms)

TBA

You might know it as a Curtis P, but we’re serving it up 80s-style—with some flexibility and a whole lot of spice.

For Load (8-Min Window):
🏋️‍♂️ Max Weight Complex (Unbroken):
🔹 1 Clean (any style from the ground: power, squat, or muscle...no deadlift to hang though)
🔹 2 Front Rack Lunges (one per leg, any order)
🔹 1 Push Press OR Push Jerk
❌ No split jerks allowed!

Rules & Standards:

✔️ Partners will have one barbell and a set of plates to share.
✔️ Thumb tape, chalk, lifting shoes, knee sleeves and wrist wraps are allowed; lifting straps are not allowed
✔️ Lunges must be front rack, with the knee clearly touching the ground each rep
✔️ You can step forward or backward, as long as both legs are done
✔️ Finish with a locked-out push press or push jerk—bar must be overhead and under control
✔️ Athletes may attempt multiple lifts in the 8-minute window
✔️ The lift must be COMPLETED by the call of TIME at 8:00
✔️ Score = Heaviest successful lift per athlete, combined for team total

"Total Eclipse of the Quads"

10-Minute AMRAP
🏃‍♂️ Partner A runs 200m while Partner B starts on the bike
🚲 Partner A returns and swaps positions with Partner B
🏃‍♀️ Partner B heads out for their 200m run
🔁 Alternate like this for the full 10 minutes

Score = Total Calories on the bike

🔎 Movement Standards + Rules:
✔️ 200m run course will be clearly marked
✔️ Partners must alternate run → bike (no doubling up on the run or the bike)
✔️ Only calories on the bike count toward your score
✔️ At the 10:00 mark, whatever number is on the monitor is your final score
✔️ If you're out on the run when time ends, there is no penalty
