Workouts
Competitors will have 60 seconds to press beer kegs overhead.
Hands can start on the first keg - you choose what keg you want to start pressing.
On 3,2,1, Go - press the keg above your head in a full locked out position.
Lower the keg on the judges "DOWN" call in a safe and controlled manner, move onto the next keg of your choice (or stay with the one you are on - you can choose any keg weight (except, not go down in weight, only up).
The aim is to press as many kilos in the allocated time. i.e. you can press say the 50kg keg x 10 times and score 500kg or you can press the 100kg keg x 4 times and then press the 110kg x 1 time and score 510kg and that would score you higher than the 500kg.
Wrist wraps, elbow wraps, lifting belts and chalk are allowed.
Event 2 will be a timed event (cut off will be 90 seconds).
Competitors will start behind the start line and throw the stone (females approx 7kg and males approx 10kg) down the arena, they will chase the stone to where it lands and then throw it again repeating the process until the stone and competitor cross the finish line.
The competitor with the quickest time wins. If the stone & competitor do not make the finish line in the designated time distance will be recorded from where the competitor was standing at the 90 seconds.
Wrist wraps, elbow wraps, lifting belts and chalk are allowed.
Stone Cross Lovers
Competitors will start with countdown 3,2,1, Go and have to pick up the Guinevere Stone (husafell style) and carry it approx 15 metres, the stone will be placed on a steel box and then the competitor will move to the Sir Lancelot Stones and whilst standing in one spot hold the stones for as long as possible that are attached to steel rings. (dinnie stone style).
The longest time wins for the Sir Lancelot Stones! The Guinevere Stone is a "buy in". If noone can pick up the Sir Lancelet Stones then the times for the Guinevere stone will count.
Wrist straps, lifting belt or 2 belts and chalk is allowed. Lifting Suits, straps & Tacky are not allowed.
Ooh and this was the Mystery Event.
Natural Stone Load
Time limit: 60 seconds
Competitors will start with their hands on the first drum. On the call of 3-2-1-GO competitors will attempt to load the natural stones, in order, from lightest to heaviest to a 44ft gallon drum. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure the natural stones are settled on the drum and don’t roll off before moving onto the next stone. If a stone does come off the drum you must come back and reload it in order to progress to the next. The fastest to get through all 4 stones will win. In the event of no one finishing the event it will then go to whoever loads the heaviest stones in the series in the fastest time. Each stone will be timed to ensure we have no ties in this event. Equipment allowed: Belt, lifting shoes, knee and elbow sleeves, stone sleeves but with no residual tacky (recommended), wrist wraps, chalk. NO TACKY or other grip aids such as belt grip, grippo, tacky towels etc. Competitors will be checked prior to the start of the run.
