About This Competition

We are hosting our annual Team Competition. CrossFit Huaka'i Triple Threat Classic.

This event will consists of teams of 3 athletes (MMM/FFF) competing in 2 division(RX/Scaled). Teams can expect 3 workouts with a 4th workout for the top 4 teams in each division. All workouts will be posted in the up coming weeks.

 

What Division should we enter?

RX Division: Teams that complete The Open as written without scaling or modifying. We should be able to snatch/clean 95lbs and more. Able to perform basic gymnastic movements.

Scale Division: Teams new to competitions or just beginning. Scaled or Modified The Open and still working on olympic lifts.

**3 Scores**

1. Time to complete all reps.

2. Fastest row time of one athlete.

3. Total combined time of all rowers. This will be the tiebreaker for the day. (Athlete1 time+Athlete2 time+Athlete3 time=Score)

*In the event an athlete does not complete the rower within the time cap, their score will be 5:00*

-All athletes will begin in the athlete starting area. On “3, 2, 1, Go”, all athletes will complete 10 synchronized burpees. Once finished, they will run to the rig and begin 20 synchro C2B. Only 2 athletes must be working at a time during this portion. Athletes can switch at any point during C2B. 

-Next, athletes will move onto 30 Sandbag Over Bar. Athletes are required to get the sandbag up and over the bar however they like. Athletes are not required to clean it to their shoulders. The sandbag may touch the bar. Sandbag must land on ground before athlete begins next rep. 

-Once 30 reps are completed, athletes will move over to the dumbbells and begin 40 Double DB Squat Clean Thrusters (Clusters).  Athletes will complete a squat clean into a thruster each rep. Only one head of each dumbbell needs to touch the ground.

-Once 40 reps are finished, athletes will move on to 50 Burpee Get Overs. Athletes will start facing or parallel to the box. Athlete will complete a burpee, then “get over” the box however they like. Use of hands/arms are allowed. Athletes' feet must be on the ground and hands off the box before the next athlete begins the burpee. One foot must make contact on top of box every rep.

-After all 50 are completed, all athletes will move to the row and begin chipping away at 60/50 calories. Each athlete will complete 60/50 cals at the same time. 

-The cals will count down on the monitor. After the last athlete finishes 60/50 cals, the time will be taken as the team's finishing time. Athletes do not need to finish in the athlete starting area. All 3 athletes times will be taken for the row.

-Athletes may switch however and how much they want. Athletes do not need to return to athlete starting area to switch. 

*In the event a team does not complete all reps in time cap, their score will be total reps/calories completed and row time will be 5:00.*

*Only 1 bar will be used.

*First weight will be pre-loaded. Athletes will be responsible for all other loading. All athletes can help load.

*Must complete all reps before moving to next set.

*Athletes may switch however they like.

*If athletes are unable to clean the FINAL weight, athletes are given option to deadlift it instead.

**2 Scores**

1.Time to complete required reps (50 reps). 

2.Total reps at heaviest load in the remaining time.

  • 1 Clean = 15 reps
  • 1 Deadlift = 1 rep

*Tie breaker will be total team time of the row in Event 1, "Get Over it"*

-Before the start, each team will have a pre-loaded bar per division's set weight. 

-Teams will start in the athlete starting area. On “3,2,1 Go!” One athlete will approach loaded bar and start the first set of 20 cleans.  

-Once 20 cleans at set division’s weight are completed, the team will move onto 15 cleans. Athletes will be responsible for loading the correct weight. All athletes can help load, but athlete may not begin set until remaining athletes are in the starting area.

-This will continue until the set of 5 is complete. Next, athletes will load bar for the final division's weight and begin max reps of cleans in the remaining time.

*In the event all athletes on the team cannot clean the FINAL weight, athletes have the option to deadlift*

*Muscle clean, power clean or squat clean are permitted. 

*Does not have to be Touch-n-Go.

*Athletes may switch out however much they like. 

*Athletes do not need to evenly split reps nor need to participate in each set.

*Athletes must tag out in the athlete starting area when switching. 

*If the team chooses deadlift option, each deadlift will only count as 1 rep. Cleans will count as 15 reps.

*In the event athletes do not complete all 50 reps in the 8 min time cap, their score would be total reps completed.

Example 1: Team 1 completes the required 50 reps in 6 minutes. Team 1 has 2 minutes to complete max rep cleans at final weight. Team 1 completes 8 cleans. Their first score is 6 minutes. Their second score is 120 reps.

Example 2: Team 2 completes the required 50 reps in 5 minutes. Team 2 has 3 minutes to complete max rep cleans at final weight. Team 2 completes 3 cleans before opting to deadlifts. Team 2 completes 10 deadlifts. Their first score is 5 minutes. Their second score is 55 reps.

Example 3: Team 3 completes 3 cleans into set of 5 and is time capped at 8 minutes. Team 3's first score would be 48 reps at 8 minutes. Their second score would be 0 reps.

-All athletes will start in the Athlete starting area. On “3, 2, 1, go!” 1 athlete will run to the rig and complete 7 Toes-to-Bar. Once complete, the athlete will move onto the assault bike and complete 7 calories. Lastly, the athlete will finish off with 7 Shoulder to Overhead. Once that athlete is done, they will tag off in the athlete starting area for the next athlete to start their round. 

-All athletes must complete at least 1 round. After all 3 athletes have each completed 1 round, team may continue in any order they like.

-Athletes will tag out in the starting area after each round. Athletes have to complete a full round before switching.
