About This Competition

The first annual 2021 Invictus Boston Summer Throwdown is here to celebrate our first summer back in the gym and your fitness of course!

This four-week competition will take place every Friday during class times. You don't need to make any extra time to complete the workouts, as they will be programmed as the class workout every Friday.

If you cannot attend class on Friday, you may complete the workout during the weekend on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. All final scores are due by Monday night at 5pm EST.

After completing each workout each week, you will log your scores in Competition Corner to see how you stack up against your fellow members. There will be an Rx, a scaled, and a masters division for members to choose to compete in.

At the end of the four weeks, the top ten from each division will throw down at our Fall Throwdown on September 18th, where we'll celebrate with a gym-wide party afterwards.

This event is FREE and open to ALL members who wish to participate.

Standards:

Both feet must hit the bar each rep for Toes to Bar to count
Athletes must stand fully extended before beginning first rep of hang squat clean
Hips must fully extend at the top of each hang squat clean rep
Athletes must show full control at the top of a completed heavy clean attempt. Feet should be roughly shoulder width with knees and hips fully extended.

Immediately upon completion of Part A or @ time cap - 9 mins to establish a 1RM Clean any way (done from the ground, hang, squat or power).

Burpees may be performed laterally, but MUST be done with a 2 foot hop. Landing on 1 is permitted.
Scaled and masters 50+ can be performed with a step-over
Pull-ups are performed to chin over bar and may be done kipping or strict
Deadlift reps are completed when hips and knees are fully extended and shoulders are back
