About This Competition

On Friday 12th June we are putting our third Turf Games 'spin' on the home workouts and launching HOME GAMES 3.0 - a bit of friendly competition with a Live! Leaderboard and chance to win some great prizes from our partners. This will be a series of 5 workouts over two weeks.  

 

This competition is for - 

MIXED PAIRS - 1 MALE/1 FEMALE athlete teams

 

You can also register for either Individual bodyweight OR Individual KB/DB

 

N.B - If you are doing the Individual KB/DB weighted division - in your profile on this website, can you amend your last name to show what weight you are using. i.e Steve Smith (20kg KB). So if you last name is 'Smith' in the last name field on the website you would write - Smith (20kg KB) for example. This will allow people to gauge how they are doing on the leaderboard with the various weights everyone is using. 

 

PRIZES

First group of prize winners will be announced on Tuesday 23rd June - you must have completed and submitted minimum 2 out of 3 workout scores to be in the chance of winning by 5pm (UK time) 22 June.

 

Second group of prize winners will be announced on Tuesday 30th June - you must have completed and submitted minimum 4 out of 5 workout scores to be in the chance of winning by 5pm (UK time) 29th June.

 

Prize winners are chosen randomly based on the above and then what prize from our partner they win is also chosen randomly.

 

THE WORKOUTS

 

Mixed Pair Bodyweight workouts will not require any gym equipment, you may need a chair or similar for step ups and potentially a broomstick. The KB/DB division - you can use whatever weight you wish. 

 

WORKOUTS WILL BE RELEASED AT 9AM (UK TIME) ON -

 

Workout 1 - Friday 12th June

Workout 2 - Tuesday 16th June

Workout 3 - Friday 19th June

Workout 4 - Tuesday 23rd June

Workout 5 - Friday 26th June

 

Score submission - Scores for ALL workouts to be submitted by 5pm (UK time) Monday 29th June.  You can submit scores and then redo workouts as often as you like, updating your score each time.

Workouts

Workout 1


For time


  • 200 Air squats
  • 50 Commandos
  • 200 Single leg V-ups
  • 50 Down-ups


EMOM starting at zero - 20 Synchro shoulder taps


EMOM - Every Minute On the Minute


One athlete working at a time. Non working athlete must be holding a wall sit while other athlete works. Both athletes must perform 20 synchro shoulder taps at the start of every minute until the workout is complete.


Score = Time

Workout 2


Both athletes complete individually for time


4 Rounds


  • 500m Run
  • 30 Alternating Reverse Lunges
  • 20 Push-ups


Score = Combined time of both athletes

Workout 3


For Time


  • 300 Air squats
  • 200 Butterfly sit-ups
  • 100 Down-ups


*One athlete must be holding a high plank while the other athlete works.


Score = Time

Workout 4


For reps


EMOM Death by Synchro Hand Release Push-ups + Jumping Lunges


EMOM - Every Minute On the Minute


  • Minute 1 = 2 HRPU + 2 Jumping lunges
  • Minute 2 = 4 HRPU + 4 Jumping lunges
  • Minute 3 = 6 HRPU + 6 Jumping lunges
  • Minute 4 = 8 HRPU + 8 Jumping lunges
  • And so on...........


Athletes continue until they can not complete the allocated reps within the 1 minute window. Once one athlete can't go any longer, both athletes are out.


Score = Total reps completed up until point you are are eliminated by the start of the next minute

Workout 5


For reps on a 14 minute running clock, each athlete performs individually.


Minutes 0 - 4


  • 400m Run
  • 10 Burpees
  • AMRAP in remaining time - Push-ups


Rest 1 minute


Minutes 5 - 9


  • 400m Run
  • 10 Burpees
  • AMRAP in remaining time - Air squats


Rest 1 minute


Minutes 10 -14


  • 400m Run
  • 10 Burpees
  • AMRAP in remaining tome - Butterfly sit-ups


Score = Total combined reps of Push-ups, Air squats and Butterfly sit-ups for both athletes.
