River City Throwdown
About This Competition
On Saturday, September, 10th 2022, S&S CrossFit will be hosting the 1st Annual River City Throwdown Fitness Challenge at Top Teer. This is a chance for you athletes to showcase your amazing strength, tenacity and camaraderie.
Not only will the River City Throwdown be going on but also a Strongman Competition, and the biggest fitness expo in New Braunfels.
We will have 2 divisions:
RX or Scaled
3 individual workouts across broad time and modal domains will give you the chance to push through your weaknesses and show off your strengths!
CASH Prize for 1st place winners.
Heats will be released and shared closer to the event.

Workouts
12 min max complex:
1 deadlift
1 clean (power or squat)
1 front squat
1 jerk
Format:
At 3...2...1...GO, athlete will begin loading empty barbell with first attempted weight. Athlete must notify judge with total weight before each lift. Clips must be placed. Athlete will perform 1 deadlift, 1 clean, 1 front squat and 1 jerk. After successful lift, athlete may begin loading for the next attempt. Successful lift must be unbroken.
4 rounds:
15 dual kettlebell deadlift
12 hang power snatch
9 toes to bar
RX:
(70/53)
(95/65)
Scaled:
(53/35)
(75/55)
knee raises
Format:
At 3...2...1...GO, athlete will start at rig and run to pick up both kettlebells and perform 15 deadlifts then athlete will move to the barbell and complete 12 barbell hang power snatches followed by 9 toes to bar/knee raises at designated rig position. Athlete will follow this format for 4 rounds or until time cap.
15 min amrap:
40 front squat
30 burpees over bar
20 alternating lunges
10 shoulder to overhead
RX:
(135/95)
both feet jump over bar
Scaled:
(95/65)
step over
Format:
At 3...2...1...GO, athlete will start at side of barbell, move to barbell and perform 40 front squats then athlete will complete 30 burpees over their bar, perform 20 alternating lunges in place, and finish off with 10 shoulder to overhead. Athlete will follow this format for 15 minutes.
