2022 FireBreather Classic - hosted by Capital City CrossFit

2 person team competition that includes six divisions:

Rx'd Males
Rx'd Females
Rx'd Co-Eds
Intermediate Males
Intermediate Females
Intermediate Co-Eds


When is it? June 11th, 2022

Where is it? Capital City CrossFit - Springfield, IL

Each team will compete in three workouts on the main floor, plus one floater WOD. Cash prizes will be awarded to top  team in each division with prize packages for other podium finishing teams. 

Division Standards

Here are some standards of movements/weights that BOTH athlete should be able to complete in any given workout.

*Athletes will split up pull-ups as they see fit, with one working, one resting.

*Once pull-ups are completed BOTH athletes will bike with the remainder of the 5 minutes (2 bikes). 

*Score = Total Calories Combined

*Athletes may split rowing duties at their own discretion, switching whenever, however many times they wish. 

*In the 10:00 time frame, both athletes will find a 1RM Thruster.

*Score = Sum Total of Calories + Max Thruster Weight (Partner 1) + Max Thruster Weight (Partner 2)

*ALL teams will be provided with:

  • One 45# Barbell
  • Plates - 4 x 45#, 2 x 35#, 2 x 25#, 2 x 15#, 4 x 10#, 2 x 5#, 2 x 2.5#

*The first half - athletes may share and split reps as they wish. One works, one rests. The second half - athletes must be in synchronization.

*All same sex teams to complete Synchro Bar Facing Burpees (one barbell)


*All Co-Ed teams to complete Synchro Lateral Bar Hopping Burpees (two separate barbells)


*Synchronization standards: Athletes must have chest to the deck at same time, and must be jumping over bar at same time (a two foot takeoff is not mandatory, however both athletes must have both feet off the floor at some point during jump.)


*Athletes may split up Ground-2-Overhead however they wish. *Athletes will be responsible for changing out their own weight in the one minute rest period.
