Never Back Down returns with the same format and Divisions.
In honour of The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation we will be working with local indigenious artists to create our competition T-shirts and running a food drive to collect non perishable items for local communities in need.
Scaled M/F Pairs 8am-12pm (Only 12 spots available)
Rx M/F Pairs 1pm-5pm (Only 12 spots available)
Each Team will have 6 Scored Events to accumulate points. 3 Event set ups and each event will have 2 scores.

Rx Standards: HSPU, C2B, T2B, Clean 185/135, Snatch 135/95, DL 275/190, Single Leg Squat, D-Ball to shoulder 150/100.
Scaled Standard: Push up, Chin over bar pull up, Clean 135/95, Snatch 95/65, DL 225/155, D-ball to shoulder 100/70.

Workouts
Event 1:
A) For Time: 2km Row + 2km Ski
B) 1RM DL
Flow: Athletes start behind the start line. At “Go”, either athlete can start the row. Athletes can switch anytime on the rower. Once the 2km Row is complete, move to the ski complete 2km while switching at any time. The cap to complete the 2km row + 2km Ski is 18 mins. During this time, each athlete will establish a 1RM Deadlift in no particular order but sharing the 45lb barbell with a time cap of 12 mins. After the 12 minute window to establish the 1RM DL each, athletes have until the 18 min mark to complete the 2km row and 2km ski. The Row+ Ski time will be 1 score. The total weight combined form each athlete’s DL will be a 2nd score.
Standards: The ski and row can be set to any damper and will have a 2000m count down on both monitors. Deadlift starts with an empty bar and can be loaded after “Go”. There is unlimited amount of attempts per athlete during their 12 min window. Deadlift must be conventional style (no sumo).
Tie break for A will be weight of B.
Tie break for B will be time of A.

Flow: Athletes start behind the start line. At “Go”, 1 athlete will start the 30 snatches. Athletes can switch out at anytime. After the 30 snatches, complete 30 clean and jerks and then 30 thrusters. Male athlete will have their own barbell (@135)(SC-@95) and female athlete will have their own bar (@95)(SC-@65). There is a 10 minute cap to complete these 90 total reps. During that same 10 minutes, there is another score for accumulated echo bike calories, switching anytime. The time to complete the 90 reps will be 1 score. The total calories on the bike will be a 2nd Score.
Standards: Snatch can be any style as long as the athlete finishes with the bar locked out overhead with control and feet in line from the ground in one smooth motion. The clean and Jerk can be any style as long as the athlete finishes with the bar locked out overhead in control with the feet in line. The bar must pass through a front rack position after the clean. The thruster rep starts at the bottom of the squat and finishes in the overhead position with the bar locked out in control with the feet in line. During the squat position, the bar must touch the shoulders.

B) AMRAP 4: Max Rope Climbs
Flow: Athletes start behind the start line. At “Go”, both athletes advance to the pull up bar to complete 15 synchro T2B. Then 1 athlete moves to the burpee over bench and can switch out anytime with the other athlete to complete the 15 burpee over bench. Then 1 athlete will start the 15 DB bench press and can switch out with the other partner at anytime. The men’s DBs are 70# and the women’s are 50#. The Dbs must stay on the designated side of the bench. Complete as many rounds of this as possible in the 8 minutes. There will be a 1 minute rest between A and B. At the 9 minute more, with both athletes starting behind the start line again, one athlete will advance to the rope to complete any number of rope climbs to 15ft. The athletes can switch out rope climbs at anytime behind the start line to complete as many climbs as possible in the 4 minutes. The Total number of reps completed in the 8 mins of T2B, Burpee and Bench will be 1 score. The total number of RC will be a 2nd score.
Standards: Synchronized T2B will be created when both athletes toes touch the bar at the same time. During each rep, both athletes heels must pass behind the plane of the pull up bar. Burpee must be done facing the bench with the entire body within the frame of the bench (including the feet). Athletes can step or jump up/ down but must complete a 2 foot take off over the bench without touching the bench with the hands or feet. If the bench is touched, the athlete will be given a no rep and can complete the rep on any side to re-do that rep. DB bench press starts from a full lockout (if you lay back on the bench with the DBs on the chest, pressing up to the lockout is not a rep). The DBs must be lowered to make contact with the chest or shoulders before pressing back to a full controlled lockout of the elbows with the DBs over the shoulders. The DBs can be angled any way throughout the press and finish. Rope climbs can be done with any technique/ style as long as one hand clearly touches the 15ft tape line. Athletes must switch out clearly behind the start line (no tag necessary).

Burpee must be done facing the bench with the entire body within the frame of the bench (including the feet). Athletes can step or jump up/down and can use the assistance of the hands to get over the bench but the feet cannot touch the bench. If the bench is touched by the feet, the athlete will be given a no rep and can complete the rep on any side to re-do that rep. DB bench press starts from a full lockout (if you lay back on the bench with the DBs on the chest, pressing up to the lockout is not a rep). The DBs must be lowered to make contact with the chest or shoulders before pressing back to a full controlled lockout of the elbows with the DBs over the shoulders. The DBs can be angled any way throughout the press and finish. Rope climbs can be done with any technique/ style as long as one hand clearly touches the 12ft tape line. Athletes must switch out clearly behind the start line (no tag necessary).
