About This Competition
Here we go again!!! We're thrilled to announce another CrossFit/Fitness competition at the Healthplex, this time as a TEAM Event. The event will maintain the format we've enjoyed previously, with competitors judging one another, ensuring a day full of fun and friendly rivalry among gym members. It's an excellent chance to experience a competition-style event or to gauge your skills if you're a seasoned participant. Remember, this is about enjoyment and experience, not fame and glory—though it's perfect for earning those gym bragging rights.
Also, if you plan on competing at the Annual Battle for the Monument here in Victoria, this will be the perfect oppurtunity for you and your partner to feel eachother out and work on your communication and ability to plan for a workout. Think of it as a practice comp a month before the real thing!
The wokouts will be a mix of team work, synchronization, individual skill, and smart strategy. Workouts will also be programmed in a way that only one team member will "need" to be capable of the movement or weight, allowing a wider range of abilities to participate.
Teams will be divided into two categories: Male/Male and Female/Female.
Workout movements and weights will be detailed in the standards, including the expected volume for each. For commonly scaled movements, alternative exercises will be available to ensure everyone can compete (for example, 1 Pull Up = 2 KB Swings, 1 TTB = 2 Sit-Ups). As long as you're comfortable with the listed weights, you're set to compete. And if you have concerns about a specific movement or weight, please reach out to us. We're here to help and encourage as many participants as possible.
