Welcome to the 2023 Dutch Throwdown Buddy Qualifiers for the 2024 finals.

The Dutch Throwdown is an official 2024 CrossFit® Licensed Event

Qualifiers:

October 10th till November 09th 

2024 Finals:

February 17 = Scaled + Regular

February 18 = Advanced + RX + Parent/Kid

Location finals:

Maaspoort Den Bosch


General info:

The success of our competitions is the focus on the beginning athlete. By beginning athlete we mean anyone who has little to no competition experience and wants to experience this as a team. Our competitions are also the perfect start for your progression to higher level competitions. 

We want everyone who participates, regardless of their fitness level, to experience the feeling of being on the competition floor, cheered by hundreds of spectators, friends and family and where you can shine in our community. 

Our competitions do not have an elite division because it does not fit within our beginner concept. The organization reserves the right to: 

  • refuse these athletes;
  • reassign these athletes to a higher division (is considered on a case-by-case basis).

If you have any doubts whether you can participate or not, we ask you to inform us in advance by sending us an email via the email address you can find below.

The concept:

  • earn your team spot to the finals via the qualifier;
  • designed for the beginner athlete;
  • if you make it to the finals >>> NO multiple, long, hard workouts spread out over 2 or more days;
  • Only 1 day of competition for ALL divisions (Saturday or Sunday);
  • Tight time schedule so everyone knows when to start and when it is done;
  • ALL participants are doing 3 different workouts spread out during the day with NO cut-off;
  • NO finals to determine the 1th, 2th and 3th place overall;
  • Testing endurance, strength, power, skill, bodyweight exercises or a mix of all mentioned;
  • We offer a parent/kid division in our Buddy edition with custom workouts.


The competition includes four levels to play:

  • Scaled
  • Regular
  • Advanced
  • RX

Unique in the divisions are the subdivisions. You can team up in the following sud-divisions:

  • M/M
  • F/F
  • M/F
  • M/M 70+ (not in RX)
  • F/F 70+ (not in RX)
  • M/F 70+ (not in RX)
  • Dad/Kid (Age kid 6-12)
  • Mom/Kid (Age kid 6-12)

Workouts

 

WORKOUT FLOW:At the start signal, the workout goes as followed:

1. Both athletes divide the 21 cleans as you like.
2. After completing the 21 cleans, both athletes perform 21 synchro burpees.
3. Once completed the synchro burpees, divide the 15 cleans as you like.
4. After completing the set of 15 cleans, divide the 15 Russian KB swings as you like.
5. Continue to the 9 cleans, divide as you like.
6. Into 9 synchronized gymnastics movements.
7. Start over by dividing the 15 cleans, continuing with the 15 Russian KB swings.
8. Proceed to dividing 21 cleans between both athletes.
9. Finish your workout together with 21 synchronized burpees.

The score of this workout is the time needed to complete the entire workout.

Mixed teams use mixed weights in both the cleans and the KB swings.

There is no expectation of tapping hands while switching movements between buddies.

WORKOUT FLOW:

At the start signal, the workout goes as followed:

1. Athlete A starts the first round.
2. This athlete starts with the 9 CAL row.
3. Into 7 box step/jump variation 
4. Finishing with 1 wall walk variation.
5. He/she taps athlete B, who may already be seated on the rower without touching the handles
 6. Athlete B can start to complete the same workout flow by switching athletes each round.
7. Continue working in this workout flow until the time cap of 12 min is reached.
8. The score of this workout is the number of repetitions executed at time cap.

WORKOUT FLOW:

At the start signal, the workout goes as followed:

1. Athlete A begins starts the first round.
2. 1 round = 10 double DB Man Makers + 5 5m shuttle runs (1 length = 5m back and forth = 1 rep).
3. After athlete A has completed 1 full round, he taps the hand of athlete B, and they can start their round.
4. Both athletes take turns  until the time cap of 10min is reached.
5. The final score will be the total of performed good reps within the time cap.
