SiD UK Championships 2024

Registration goes live at 1400hrs on Friday 15th March 2024 (GMT)

This is your chance to secure your space and compete against top athletes from across the UK and beyond. Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this amazing event, showcase your skills and be in with a chance of becoming the SiD UK Champion! Join us this July for a weekend of intense competition and community spirit. Register now for the qualifiers happening across March, April & May and secure your spot in the SiD UK Championships!

FORMAT

One set of qualifiers, two opportunities to qualify! We have teamed up with the French Throwdown for the Qualifying Stages; this is your chance to sign up to both events, take on just one set of qualifiers and have the opportunity to secure a space at both events. 

We know that a busy month of qualifiers can affect your training schedule; that’s why we at SiD UK Champs and the French Throwdown have joined forces. If you want the chance to qualify for both events you can now;

- Sign up to each event via Competition Corner*
- Take on the qualifiers throughout March & April (April & May for teams)
- Submit your scores separately for both events
- You are then in with a chance of qualifying for both!

*To take on both events, athletes are required to sign up and pay the two qualifier fees, one for each event and submit their qualifier score twice, i.e one on the French Throwdown submission page and one on the SiD UK Champs submission page. N.B the deadline submission dates are different for both events

DIVISIONS

INDIVIDUAL: Elite, Rx, Intermediate, Scaled

MASTERS: Age group breakdown: 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55+

The cut off date for each Masters age group is the athlete’s age in years on the  (20/05/2024) athletes will remain in their qualifying age groups for the SiD UK Championships Final.

TEENS: Division breakdown by age: 16 - 17

The cut off date for the Teens age group is the athlete’s age in years on the  (20/05/2024) athletes will remain in their qualifying age groups for the SiD UK Championships Final.

TEAMS: Elite, Rx, Intermediate, Scaled

Teams are to be made up of 2 male and 2 female athletes.

DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS

The Teens 16-17 level will be aligned with the Intermediate division. This division is intended for Teen athletes who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and may have progressed to the Quarter or Semi Finals for their age group. They should be proficient in all of the Rx listed movements. Teen athletes may be required to handle odd objects. The Teen 16-17 tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in known domains. This division tests the full technical capacity of the athletes but may give some consideration to loading and volume where deemed appropriate.


The Masters 35-39 level will be aligned with the Rx division. This division is intended for Masters athletes who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and potentially went on to compete in the Quarter or Semi Finals for their age group. They should be proficient in all of the Rx listed movements The Masters 35-39 tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in both known and unknown domains.


The Masters 40-44 and 45-49 levels will be aligned with the Intermediate division.  This division is intended for Masters athletes who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and may have progressed to the Quarter or Semi Finals for their age group. They should be proficient in all of the Rx listed movements. Masters athletes in these divisions may be required to handle odd objects. The Masters 40-44 and 45-49 tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in known domains.


The Masters 50-54 level will be aligned with the Intermediate division. This division is intended for Masters athletes who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and may have progressed to the Quarter or Semi Finals for their age group. They should be proficient in all of the Rx listed movements. Rx athletes may be required to handle odd objects. The Masters 50-54 tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in known domains. This division tests the full technical capacity of the athletes but may give some consideration to loading and volume where deemed appropriate.


The Masters 55+ level will be aligned with the Scaled division. This division is intended for Masters athletes who completed less than half of the Open Workouts as RX and are not competent with all of the Rx listed movements. Masters 55+ will not perform high level gymnastic movements such as muscle ups, handstand push ups or heavier loadings in weightlifting but should be able to perform pull ups.  Masters 55+ athletes may be required to handle odd objects or perform scaled versions of higher level gymnastics skills. The  Masters 55+ tests will be geared toward testing work capacity over skill.

The Scaled level competition is intended for those who completed less than half of the Open Workouts as RX and are not competent with all of the Rx listed movements. Scaled will not perform high level gymnastic movements such as muscle ups, handstand push ups or heavier loadings in weightlifting but should be able to perform pull ups. Scaled athletes may be required to handle odd objects or perform scaled versions of higher level gymnastics skills. The Scaled tests will be geared toward testing work capacity over skill.

The Intermediate level competition is intended for those who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx. They should have basic proficiency in all of the Rx listed movements but potentially at lower volumes. Intermediate athletes may be required to handle odd objects. The Intermediate tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in known domains. Loading may be reduced for this division.


The Rx level competition is intended for those who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and potentially went on to compete in the Quarter or Semi Finals. They should be proficient in all of the Rx listed movements. The Rx tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in both known and unknown domains.


The Elite level competition is intended for those who completed all of the CrossFit Games Open workouts as Rx and went on to compete as a high finisher in the Quarter finals, in the Semi Finals or CrossFit Games. They should be highly proficient in all of the Rx listed movements. The Elite tests will be geared toward testing work capacity and skill in both known and unknown domains.

INDIVIDUAL QUALIFIER DATES

Individual athletes will take on 3 qualifier workouts;

Announced on Friday 22nd March (GMT) inline with French Throwdowns timings.
Submission by 1400hrs on Tuesday 16th April (BST)

*The above dates are applicable to all Individual categories including Masters and Teens. 

TEAM QUALIFIER DATES

Teams will take on 4 qualifier workouts;

Announced on Tuesday 9th April (BST) inline with French Throwdowns timings.
Submission by 1400hrs on Tuesday 7th of May (BST).

Teammates do not need to be together in one location during the qualifier stages. 

LIVE FINAL

Friday 5 July  - Sunday 7th July 2024
NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT

Individual, Male and Female, Elite & Rx divisions AND Elite and Rx Teams will compete in a 3 day competition - Friday 5 July - Sunday 7 July

All remaining categories (Individual & Team Intermediate & Scaled, all Masters categories and Teens) will compete in a 2 day competition - Saturday 6 July - Sunday 7 July)

Registration and briefings will be onsite at the NEC during the AM on Friday 5 July/ Saturday 6th July. More details to follow.

Live final numbers are subject to qualifier numbers per category and are subject to change.

PRIZE POT 

There is a £21,500 prize pot that will be divided amongst all final competing divisions. Proposed prize pot split will be announced when the Qualifiers conclude.
