About This Competition



Join CrossFit Kumba for the 2nd annual RUMBLE IN THE LION’S DEN on JUNE 9 ! This is a 2-person team (co-ed) multi-event competition. The event will be from 8am-5pm, have an Rx and scaled division and feature 4 workouts + a Finals WOD. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st 2nd and 3rd place finishers. The competition will provide a unique athlete and spectator experience featuring a vendors market, local food trucks, and a beer garden after party hosted by Castle Island Brewery.

Workouts

14 MIN AMRAP. PARTNER A: 20KB DEADLIFTS 70/53 (53/35). UPON COMPLETION PARTNER B: 20 GHD (AB MAT) SIT-UP. 15 RING DIP (PUSH-UP). 20 WALL BALL 20/14. PARTNER A MUST CONTINUE TO HOLD KB (HANDS ABOVE KNEE JOINT LINE) WHILE PARTNER B WORKS. IF PARTNER A DROPS THE KB, PARTNER B MUST STOP WORKING. 1 RND IS COMPLETE WHEN PARTNER B FINISHES LAST WALL BALL. PARTNERS SWITCH TO START RND 2.

1 REP MAX CLEAN AND JERK. EACH PARTNER WILL HAVE 2 ATTEMPTS WITHIN A 30 SECOND WINDOW TO ESTABLISH THEIR BEST 1RM CLEAN AND JERK.

600M ROW. 40/30 BURPEES. 100 DOUBLE UNDERS/200 SINGLE UNDERS. 20 SNATCH 95/65 75/55. 17 HSPU/BURPEE. 18 MINUTE TIME CAP. SCALED DIVISION. PARTNER A (MALE OR FEMALE) COMPLETES THE ENTIRE CHIPPER. UPON COMPLETITION OF THE LAST REP OF THE LAST MOVEMENT, PARTNER B WILL BEGIN TO NEGOTIATE THE WORKOUT BEGINNING OF THE ROW.

RX: THRUSTER 95/65. 21-15-9 BAR MUSCLE-UP 15-12-9. SCALED: THRUSTER 75/55 21-15-9. JUMPING PULL-UP 42-30-18. 10 MINUTE TIME CAP. EACH PARTNER MUST COMPLETE THE FULL SET OF THRUSTERS (I.E. 21 EACH) BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE BAR MU/JUMPING PULL-UPS. BAR MU/PULL-UPS CAN BE PARTITIONED AS DESIRED (I.E. 15 TOTAL, 42 TOTAL).
