About This Competition

Details:
- Format: Two Person Teams - Mixed Gender Pairs (one male, one female)
- Divisions: RX, Intermediate, and Scaled
- Events: Guaranteed four workouts, listed below, subject to change
Prizes:
- First Place RX - $500 Cash*
- First Place Intermediate - $400 Cash*
- First Place Scaled - $300 worth of prizes/swag/gift-cards*
- First 10 Teams signed up will receive Greater Than 2021 Tee Shirts
*Cash and prizes based on participation - less teams, less prize money
Live Stream:
- We will live stream the entire event on our Facebook and YouTube Pages
- Early sign-ups get the best lane slots for Live Stream viewing
Additional Details:
- Waivers: All participants must have a waiver on file with CrossFit Vertex. If you don't, come early (the doors will be open). Teen athletes require a legal guardian to sign the waiver
- Athlete Check-in: Saturday, 8/21/2021, 7:30 - 8:15AM
- Trail Run: There will be a contingency if it is very wet. The terrain is decent; sneakers are OK if it is dry

1. Who should I contact for more information?
You can reach out to the competition team by emailing crossfitvertex@gmail.com, sending a personal message to the CrossFit Vertex Facebook Page, or posting questions on the official Facebook Event Page
2. Will athletes be alerted when workouts change? When will the workouts be finalized?
Yes, athletes will be alerted of workout changes via the official Facebook Event Page. The workouts finalize on the day of the competition. Final workout hints will be distributed between now and the competition start date.
3. Is there a spectator fee?
There is no spectator fee. All spectators are welcome.
4. What should I bring?
Bring a dirty pair of sneakers and another pair of socks for the Trail Run. Also, bring everything you'll need for the day, including fuel and something to sit on. We will have grab-n-go items available.
5. Where do we park?
Please utilize all parking lots in front of the CrossFit Vertex buildings.
6. May I bring my pet?
As much as we would like to allow pets, we must maintain a safe environment. Please leave pets at home. Service animals are always allowed.
7 Are children allowed?
Yes, children are allowed but they must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
8. Where will the athletes warm up and camp out?
We will open the CrossFit Vertex Annex Gym for warming up. The Annex Gym will also be used as an athlete hang out area. If the weather is nice, we will utilize the parking lot as well.

- Each partner must do the segment before moving to the next segment (see Workout Example below)
- Each partner must complete full workload in the segment before tagging in their partner
- HSW: must traverse 6' segment to count a rep, if the athlete drops within a 6' segment they must return to the start of the 6' segment
- Males and Females use the same 45# bar
Workout Example:
- Female Partner 1 buys in, 8 Cals, 36' HSW, and tags in Male Partner 2.
- Male Partner 2 buys in, 10 Cals, 36' HSW, and tags in Female Partner 1.

Workout Notes:
- Both athletes hold bar on Tandem Deadlifts and achieve lockout at the same time
- Both athletes jump over the same bar. Jumping over the bar does not need to be synchronized. Chest and thighs on the floor must be synchronized. If a no-rep is called, repeat the portion of the movement that was no-repped
- Synchronize toes touching bar on T2B
- Synchronize lockout on DB squats
- Synchronize chest and thighs on floor and lockout on Devil's Press
- Athletes may be required to move DBs to different positions on the floor
- Athletes cannot drop dumbbells

Workout Notes:
- Athletes synchronize the finish of each movement (e.g. both athletes have fully locked out knees and hips on the front squat, both athletes have fully locked out knees, hips, and elbows, bar clearly over midline for the thruster)
- During the squat portions, athletes must reach below parallel (hip crease below top of knee) but they do not need to be below parallel at the the same time
- Athletes face each other
Scoring Notes
- A fully completed complex is worth one rep
- If a no-rep is called, the full complex must be repeated (e.g. partners are not synchro on second front squat, no-rep, drop barbell and start complex over)
