Movement Standards
The (GRT) begins in the plank position. The GRT lowers themselves to the floor until their chest, stomach, hips, and thighs are in full contact with the ground.
At that point, the GRT extends their arms out to the sides, forming the shape of a “T” (hands must not touch the floor). Once full elbow extension is achieved, the GRT brings their hands back under the shoulders and presses back up to the plank position, reaching full elbow extension. The body should form a straight line from shoulders to ankles.
The GRT continues this pattern until 1 minute has elapsed or time is called.
**
NO-GO / No-Rep Criteria
GRT fails to lower completely to the floor and/or fails to make full contact with chest, stomach, hips, and thighs.
GRT fails to lift hands off the floor or does not achieve full extension of the arms at the bottom of the push-up.
GRT fails to maintain a straight line from shoulders to ankles when completing a rep.
Note: GRTs may rest in the plank position. If resting or pausing in any other position, they must return to the plank position before continuing or for the next repetition to count.
**
Scoring
Participants will accumulate as many repetitions as possible in 1 minute and log their score on the competition leaderboard.
**
Scaling
Scaling is allowed for this event. A GRT may perform the movement from their knees, but they will not be eligible for the Grand Prize.
We encourage everyone to validate their fitness and give this 1-minute challenge a try!
