About This Competition

2020 Australia Day Throwdown is going to be a unique pairs fitness competition, testing the fittest pairs on the day.


Hosted by the The McMahon Method in small country town Tumut NSW. 


Let's make a weekend out of it! Throwdown, then hang around for beers and pizza at Tumut River Brewing Co.


CASH MONEY INCENTIVES FOR PODIUM FINISHES & prizes for pairs best dressed.


We will have 6 categories listed below:

*RX Male Pairs
*RX Female Pairs
*Scaled Male Pairs
*Scaled Female Pairs
*Master 40+ and teens under 15 Male Pairs
*Master 40+ and teens under 15 Female Pairs


(This category can be mixed for example a master can pair with a teen or master/master or teen/teen. But they will all compete together on the one leaderboard)


*There will be at least one event that will be outdoors and very hot conditions so prepare for that sunscreen, water, runners etc..


Description and movements:

RX Male Pairs: 
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 40kg, Burpees, T2B, Pull ups, Bar M/U, Front rack lunge 60kg, Shoulder to overhead 60kg, rowing.


RX Female Pairs:
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 30kg, Burpees, T2B, Pull ups, Bar M/U, Front rack lunge 40kg, Shoulder to overhead 40kg, rowing.


Scaled Male Pairs:
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 30kg, Burpees, High knees, Banded pull ups, Pull ups (at end of a WOD), Front rack lunge 40kg, Shoulder to overhead 40kg, rowing.


Scaled Female Pairs: 
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 20kg, Burpees, High knees, Banded pull ups, Pull ups (at end of a WOD), Front rack lunge 25kg, Shoulder to overhead 25kg, rowing.


Master 40+ and teens under 15 Male Pairs
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 30kg, Burpees, High knees, Banded pull ups, Pull ups (at end of a WOD), Front rack lunge 30kg, Shoulder to overhead 30kg, rowing.


Master 40+ and teens under 15 Female Pairs
Running, Thruster ladder starting at 20kg, Burpees, High knees, Banded pull ups, Pull ups (at end of a WOD), Front rack lunge 20kg, Shoulder to overhead 20kg, rowing.
