Summer Slam 2023 Presented by Patriot CrossFit
About This Competition
We are pleased to announce that on Saturday August 12th, 2023 Patriot CrossFit will be hosting its second annual Summer Slam! The Summer Slam is the largest fitness competition in the greater DMV area. Gyms and fitness studios from as far as Richmond, VA send representatives from their affiliates to compete against members of Patriot CrossFit and others in the local CrossFit community.
Last year we had 48 teams (4 more waitlisted), 144 athletes, 50+ volunteers, and 300+ spectators over the course of just 10 hours! This year we are expecting an even better turnout as every local CrossFit gym and fitness facility in the area is aware of the event and does not want to miss out!
We will have a total of 24 Rx Teams (12 MMF and 12 FFM) and 24 Intermediate Teams (12 MMF and 12 FFM). The competition will run "Power Hour" style, meaning each team will complete events back to back rather than spaced out throughout the day. There will be a total of 6 heats throughout the day with 8 teams in each heat. Each heat will run every 70 minutes. During those 70 minutes, teams will complete a total of four (4) events to test their fitness level.
There will be a midday break this year so Athletes and Spectators can take advantage of the vendor village and the crew can regroup for the afternoon heats!
The early bird price per each three person team is $275 ($91.66 per Athlete). Our early bird special will end on May 26, 2023 so be sure to take advantage! In the event of a registration cancellation, the team will be eligible for a refund if the cancellation request is made within 10 days of the date of purchase. After 10 days, the team will no longer be eligible for a refund. You may, however, transfer your registration to another Athlete up until July 22, 2023.
All athletes will receive a welcome bag and T-Shirt the morning of the event as long as they register prior to July 15, 2023.
Workouts will be released between June 12, 2023 and July 24, 2023.
The top three teams of each division will receive prizes for their efforts. We will also have a raffle for both athletes and spectators the day fo the event in which a portion of the proceeds will go towards a local charity. Athletes will be briefed on movement standards prior to the event and will have an opportunity to ask any and all questions.
Judges and volunteers will receive an event T-shirt, a meal provided by Mighty Meals along with many other gifts from sponsors.
