About This Competition

The Essentials:

Saturday April 6th, 2024 ***7:00 AM to 5:30 PM*** (Tentative Schedule)

Location:

Crossfit The Den - 943 Automation Way, Medford, OR 97504

Divisions:

M/M or F/F or M/F Advanced

M/M or F/F Masters (combined 80+, minimum 38)

M/M or F/F or M/F Intermediate

M/M or F/F or M/F Novice

Moving into competition #3 of the The GRIT Series!!! It is the last opportunity through a In-Person competition to earn an invitation to the GRIT Championship in Summer of 2024. 

Keeping with the structure of The GRIT Series, the Warrior Smackdown is a two-person, same sex or mixed for select divisions, team event.

The Warrior Smackdown is open to all level of athletes over the age of 18 for our Advanced, Masters, Intermediate, and Novice Division.

All athletes are encouraged to familiarize themselves with different fitness domains; more specifically to have some exposure to CrossFit-style workouts and powerlifting. The Advanced divisions will include all forms of powerlifting, bodyweight movements, and gymnastic style movements at a (RX+) Level. The Masters division will be similar to advanced with minor adjustments in some weights, just with people of same age group. The Intermediate divisions will include lighter weight and less advanced movements than Advanced. Novice Divisions will be more focused on pushing athletes with basic movement foundations and weight that usually reflects scaled options in programming. All athletes will be required to sign a waiver.

Cost

$250 per team
Fee includes – 3 to 4 competition workouts + finals for top teams – event t-shirt

**Entry fee CANNOT BE REFUNDED NOR CARRIED TO A FUTURE EVENT, but it can be transferred to another team up to 1 week before the event athletes registered for.

Flow

  • Team will start in the designated athlete box/area. 
  • At the call of 3-2-1 Go, athletes will head to the rig to complete their 10 reps of prescribed gymnastics movement on the bar.
  • Once the gymnastics movement is complete, the athletes will then grab their designated barbell and complete 30 reps of prescribed barbell movements.
  • Once the barbell movement is complete, the athletes will head back to the rig to complete another set of their prescribed gymnastics movements (same rep scheme).
  • Once the second set of gymnastic movements are complete, the athletes will then head to their Echo Bike and complete their prescribed calories on the bike.

Scoring

  • Score is the total time to complete the workout.
  • If the time cap is reached, their score will be 7 minutes plus the remainder of repetitions left; every rep left = 1 second to their time.

Flow

  • Partner 1 will start in the Wheelchair with weight on lap, Partner 2 will start with Mono-Rope in hand.
  • At the call of 3-2-1 Go, Partner 1 will wheel down to the 100m turn-around and exchange weight on the box, while Partner 2 completes as many successful jumps possible with the mono-rope.
  • When Partner 1 returns to the start line, partners will switch movements.
  • Partner 2 will complete the 200m wheelchair sprint with weight exchange at the turn-around, while Partner 1 completes as many successful jumps possible with the mono-rope. 

Scoring

  • Score is the total time to complete this workout.
  • Every successful mono-rope jump will be applied as - Minus .5 sec off total time.

  • Team will start in the athlete box.
  • At the call of 3-2-1 Go, athletes will run to the rig and start their 50 wallball buy-in.
  • Athletes will then move to their designated wall and perform their prescribed Wall Walk movement.
  • At the completion of the Wall Walks, athletes will then transition to the rig for their 8 reps of synchro gymnastic movement.
  • At the completion of the gymnastic movement, athletes will then move to their SkiErg and complete 16 calories.
  • Once the SkiErg calories are completed, athletes will then return to the Wall Walks and repeat the three movements for the duration of the AMRAP. 

Scoring

  • Score is the total amount of reps completed in the workout.
  • In the event of a tie, 2 tiebreaker times will be recorded:
    • completion of wallballs and,
    • completion of the 2nd round in the AMRAP.

Flow

  • Team will start in the athlete box.
  • At the call of 3-2-1 Go, athletes will head to their designated squat rack.
  • The first athlete (female if on a mixed gender team) will find their 1RM front squat.
  • The second athlete (male if on a mixed gender team) will have 1 minute to do as many front squat reps as possible with the first athlete's final weight from 1RM.
  • At the completion of the first 7 minutes of the clock, teams will mimic the same workflow but transitioning to the thruster movement.
  • The first athlete (female if on a mixed gender team) will find their 1RM thruster. Then, the second athlete (male if on a mixed gender team) will have 1 minute to do as many thruster reps as possible with the first athlete’s final weight from 1RM.  

Scoring

  • Score is the total amount of weight moved for the team.
  • In the event of time cap, the last successful completed rep (either front squat and/or thruster) will be credited.
  • There will be no tiebreaker for this event.

  • Team will start in their designated lane on the opposite side of their worm/DB’s.
  • At the call of 3-2-1 Go, athletes will run to their Worm/DB and complete the synchro burpees, over the worm or with DB’s.
  • Upon completion of the synchro burpees over the worm, athletes will then pick up the worm and start their first 20 ft section of Worm/DB Lunges.
  • Once the athletes reach the middle of the field (designated with a red line), athletes will start 15 Worm/DB Thrusters.
  • At the completion of the Worm/DB Thruster, athletes will pick up the worm and Worm/DB Lunge the next 20 ft section to finish the round.
  • This will happen for 5 total rounds, at which the athletes will need to finish with a sprint to the opposite side of the field to record their final time.  

Scoring

  • Score is the total time to complete this workout.
  • In the event of the time cap being reached, the team’s score will be the number of repetitions completed.
  • The finish is worth 1 rep.
