About This Competition
Battle for the Midlands - Mixed Pairs
After the success of our Mixed Fours competition in 2024, we're buzzing about bringing to the floor a Mixed Pairs Competition on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.
There will be four Categories
Open - Rx & Intermediate
Masters - Rx & Intermediate (minimum athlete age 35+ and a combined age of 80+)
Movement Standards
Rx (Open and Masters)
All athletes would be expected to have completed The Open at Rx in 2024.
Intermediate - Open.
(Masters in Brackets)
One athlete should be confident with TTB and Pull Ups.
Athletes should be confident with all cycling barbell movements at 42.5/30kg (Snatch and Clean + Jerk, all variations). (Masters - 35/25kg)
Deadlift 80/55kg (Masters - 60/40kg)
All DB movements – 1 x 22.5/15kg (Masters - 15/10kg)
Box Jumps - 24/20”
Wall Walks – Open Standard
Wall Balls – 9/6kg (Masters - 6/4kg)
Worm – 50kg
Please note that we have outlined a minimum set of movement standards for each category; this does not mean we will limit live event workouts to these movements alone.

1 Snatch + 3 Overhead Squats
Each athlete has 1:00 window to complete the lift, these will alternate for male and females.
Each athlete has a total of 4 x 1:00 to establish a score.
The athletes may attempt to lift the bar as many times in 1:00 as they like, however they may not change the load until their next working window.
Score = combined weight of heaviest lifts
