Novice: Barbells @31-35kg / 21-25kg
Event 4 Details:
- Athletes will have 2 barbells
1 barbell will be a normal 20/15kg barbell and the other barbell will be an axle barbell - Athletes will swap barbells at 15 reps or the half way marker per their division
- The axle bar will be slightly loaded less in weight than the regular barbell
Event 5 Details:
- Score is combined max load lifted
- Athletes will lift from the same regular barbell used from Event 4
- Either athlete may attempt their respective lift whenever throughout the clock for the workout.
- You may go up and down in load during the workout
- 1 athlete will be assigned front squats and 1 assigned shoulder to overhead (governed by the team). You can not chop and change between lifts.
- The barbell will start from the floor
- A squat clean will be permitted as the first rep of a front squat if performed.
- You may change weights and prepare the barbell before the 5 minute marker if you have finished event 4 before the cap.
- You cannot start lifting until the 5th minute marker though
