Battle In The City - Pairs Edition is hosted at +64Fitness. The competition is same sex pairs and aims to be a fun, inclusive fitness competition that will have various challenges and nuances to fitness. This event will now be hosted at +64Fitness HQ at 1/22 sonter road, Wigram.

RX | Masters 40+ RX: Barbells @56-60kg / 36-40kg

Intermediate | Masters 40+ Intermediate: Barbells @46-50kg / 31-35kg  

Novice: Barbells @31-35kg / 21-25kg


Event 4 Details: 

  • Athletes will have 2 barbells 
    1 barbell will be a normal 20/15kg barbell and the other barbell will be an axle barbell
  • Athletes will swap barbells at 15 reps or the half way marker per their division
  • The axle bar will be slightly loaded less in weight than the regular barbell 

Event 5 Details: 

  • Score is combined max load lifted 
  • Athletes will lift from the same regular barbell used from Event 4
  • Either athlete may attempt their respective lift whenever throughout the clock for the workout.
  • You may go up and down in load during the workout
  • 1 athlete will be assigned front squats and 1 assigned shoulder to overhead (governed by the team). You can not chop and change between lifts.
  • The barbell will start from the floor
  • A squat clean will be permitted as the first rep of a front squat if performed.
  • You may change weights and prepare the barbell before the 5 minute marker if you have finished event 4 before the cap.
  • You cannot start lifting until the 5th minute marker though 

Event 4/5: ALL DIVISIONS: 

Event 4 | 0:00 - 5:00 

30 synchro clean and jerks 

Event 5 | 5:00 - 10:00

Partner 1 - Max 3 reps shoulder to overhead 

Partner 2 - Max 3 reps front squat 


RX | Masters 40+ RX: Barbells @56-60kg / 36-40kg

Intermediate | Masters 40+ Intermediate: Barbells @46-50kg / 31-35kg
