About This Competition

Veterans Day Bash 2023

When: November 10th and 11th

Where: CrossFit Wild West

What: 4 Person team competition (2M/2F)

Who: Scaled, Intermediate, RX and new to VDB 23' we will be introducing a Masters team division

That's right folks; four divisions to compete in! 

For masters teams to qualify ALL members of the team must be 40+ years of age at the start of the competition! 

We can make changes to your team all the way up to a week before the event (November 3rd) and we understand that some last minute changes may be required and will work with you on that if the situation arises. 

Workouts will be modfied versions of classic CrossFit Hero workouts just like always; We will release deatils on events closer to the competiton but you can expect a Mae Simmons event, and maybe one or two other surprises this year if everything goes according to plan.

Workouts

2 rounds for time of:

100yd Synchro Walking Lunge (50 & 35# DBs carried however)

100 Synchro Single DB RX Overhead Squat  > INT/M Squat > SC Squat 

100 Synchro Single DB RX Alternating Hang Snatch > INT/M Alt. Hang Clean and Jerk > SC Jerks

Trail Run (2 different trails, 1st trail with DB)

3,2,1… GO. All athletes will begin on the goal line and lunge in sequence the length of the field. Throughout the lunge, the dumbbells (50/35) shall be carried however the team sees fit. Upon completion of the lunge, athletes will then turn around at the opposing goal line. P1 performs 10 synchronized squats and then P2 performs 10 synchronized squats. The entire team moves forward 10 yards and performs 10 more squats in the same fashion, do this until both pairs perform 50 squats a piece (100 total synchronized reps). The hang DB movement is performed in the same fashion. Upon completion of the final set of the hang DB movement. Athletes will set the DBs down, pick up their team rope, and run the designated trail while all holding onto rope. The second round is completed in the same fashion, with a different trail run. Time is called upon all four athletes returning to their lane after the second trail run. 

Males - AMRAP 5:00 

22 Deadlift RX 185# > INT/M 155# > 135# 

22 Calorie C2 (10 damper)

Females - AMRAP 5:00

22 Deadlift RX 125# > INT/M 105# > 95#

22 Calorie C2 (8 damper)

3,2,1… GO. Males chip away at the deadlifts however they see fit, with one person working at a time. Once 22 reps are completed, they then move to the bike and perform the calories however they see fit. Continue this for 5 minutes and then tag the Females so that they can start their 5 minute AMRAP. Score is total reps combined between the two pairs. 

8 rounds for time, alternating 2rds (M1,F1,M2,F2): 

7 Power Clean RX 165/115 > INT/M 135/95 > SC 115/75

7 STOH RX 165/115 > INT/M 135/95 > SC 115/75

7 Bar Facing Burpee 

 


Then, in time remaining, establish a max lift of: 

M1: 3 Clean + 3 STOH 

F1: 3 Clean + 3 STOH 

M2: 1 Clean + 1 STOH

F2: 1 Clean + 1 STOH

3,2,1… GO. M1 moves to barbell and performs two rounds of 7 + 7 + 7. Upon completion of the second round, M1 then tags F1. F1 completes their two rounds and then tags M2. M2 to F2. Upon completion of the eighth round, time is called and that is the first score. Then, with one person lifting at a time, all athletes will attempt their designated complexes however they see fit. 

Then, in time remaining, establish a max lift of: 

M1: 3 Clean + 3 STOH 

F1: 3 Clean + 3 STOH 

M2: 1 Clean + 1 STOH

F2: 1 Clean + 1 STOH

7 Ring Muscle Up > INT/M 21 Ring Pull Up  > 14 Ring Pull Up 

11 Synchro Thruster 155/105 > 115/75 > 95/65

14 Toes to Ring + 14 Toes to Bar > 14 Toes to Ring + 7 Toes to Bar > 7 Toes to Ring + 7 Toes above Hips

3,2,1 go. A MF pair moves to the rig while the other MF pair moves to the barbells. Both barbells should be lifted to the front rack position before the pair on the rig can complete their reps. While ring movements are being performed, the other half of that pair will be hanging from the pull up bar. The same goes for TTB, the other athlete will hang from rings. In order for thrusters to count, the other pair must hang from the rig as well
