About This Competition

MASTERS LEAGUE

QLD TEAM SERIES

 

The Masters League is proud to announce for 2021 a Team Series competition. This is designed to allow teams of 4 from all over Australia to compete against each other in multiple divisions. The Masters League 2021 Team Series Event enables Masters athletes to compete against other states throughout Australia. Teams of 4 consist of two Males and two females.

 

HOW IT WORKS

The Team Series competition starts with a one day event that will be held in June 2021 as a Throwdown within your State.
The Top two Teams on the day from each Division and age group will qualify and compete at the Masters League Games on the 17-19th September in Melbourne Australia for the Masters League Team Cup.

If you are competing in the Warrior 35-44 age group, you cannot have 4 register for the younger 5-year bracket (35-39) but you can have 4 compete in the older 5-year bracket (40-44).
You are only allowed 3 in the younger 5-year bracket (35-39)

Warrior athletes cannot compete in Soldier same as Hero within Warrior.
Athletes within a team need to be from the same state.

Individual Athletes that make it through to the 2021 ML Games are also able to compete in the Team Series.

If you live 3 hrs from the venue of the throwdown you may submit a video.
Submission of Video needs to be done the weekend before the Throwdown.

NOTE: TO JUMPSTART THE TEAM SERIES ATHLETES THAT HAVE NOT REGISTERED FOR THE 2021 ML OPEN MAY PARTICIPATE.

 

HOWEVER, FOR THE 2022 TEAM SERIES, ALL ATHLETES MUST ALSO HAVE REGISTERED FOR THE 2022 ML OPEN TO QUALIFY IN A TEAM.

  • X2 Males in the younger 5 year bracket and x2 Females in the older 5 year bracket

  • X1 Male & X1 Female in the younger 5 year bracket and x1 Male & X1 Female in the older 5 year bracket

 

  • X2 Males & X2 Females in the older 5 year bracket

 

  • X2 Male & X1 Female in the younger 5 year bracket and X1 Female in the older 5 year bracket

 

  • X2 Females & X1 Male in the younger 5 year bracket and X1 Male in the older 5 year bracket

Workouts

For Time: 15 min Time Cap

15 Synchro Bar Facing Burpees
45 Power snatch 50/35 kg
15 Synchro Bar Facing Burpees 

*Soldier: Burpee Step overs*

This workout begins with the Male athletes starting on the line. After 3,2,1... go, the male athletes will perform 60 Cals on the rower and then moves on to complete 15 Synchro Bar Facing Burpees with chest touching the ground in synchro and then jumping over the bar together, then perform 45 Power snatches and then back to the 15 synchro bar facing burpees. Then the male pair will tag the female athletes to complete 50 Cals on the Rower, and then move on to the 15 synchro Bar-facing burpees, then perform 45 power snatches, and then back to the 15 Synchro bar facing burpees this workout has a 15 min time cap. All reps not completed will be added as time.

  • This workout starts immediately after WOD 2.
  • Male & Female athletes may lift at the same time.
  • Athletes are allowed to do multiple attempts within the time cap.
  • The score will be the total combined weight successfully lifted by all 4 athletes as their 1 RM Squat Clean.
