About This Competition

***THE HOLIDAY HANGOVER THROWDOWN 4 hosted by Havasu CrossFit***

On January, 20th 2018 HXF will once again be hosting our annual Holiday Hangover Throwdown. A fun, functional fitness competition that will give you a good reason to stay on track this holiday season.

Teams will consist of 3 members any way you want it. All guys, all girls, 2 guys + 1 girl, 2 girls + 1 guy. There will be an Rx and Scaled divisions for the 3 person teams with lots of cash and prizes. The programming will be set up so there is no advantage for any type of team.

Two person masters (40+) teams same set up, any way you want it. All guys, all girls, 1 guy + 1 girl, 1 girl + 1 guy.

The competition will be capped at 10 teams per division (30 teams total) and we sold out the scaled division in one day last year.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the Rx division. Trophies and other prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the Scaled and Masters divisions. Registration includes a shirt for each team member (UNISEX SIZING ONLY). We cannot guarantee a correct size shirt for anyone who registers after January 6th.

True fitness is about being balanced and prepared for the unknown. In true CrossFit fashion we will not be releasing the workouts until the day of the event. Show up ready for anything. You will need a well rounded team that can excel in all facets of fitness and strategy. Each team will complete three WODs with the top four teams in each division moving on to the forth and final WOD.

STANDARDS

RX: This division will possibly include rope climbs. Athletes should be comfortable with all other functional movements. Weights will be normal Rx standards.

Workouts

Rx: 9 min. Time Cap/ Scaled: 9 min. Time Cap / Masters: 6 min. Time Cap 1-RM Clean: Partners take turns building to a 1-Rep Max Clean (any style). Each teammate will receive points for their highest lift only. Teams are responsible for changing and confirming their own weight. Score will be total team points.

Wall Balls of Fury Rx and Scaled 9 min. AMRAP Masters 6 minute AMRAP Partner A starts on Wall Ball Shots and Partner B starts on Handstand Hold. (Partner C is resting) Partners rotate in the same direction to accumulate max Wall Ball Shots. Reps only count during Handstand

12 minute Time Cap Each partner has a 250/200m buy in row before burpees can begin. Burpees and Med Ball Sit-Ups must be synchronized and done by all team members. Snatch and Pull-Up reps can be divided in any way. Score is time completed. If team hits the time cap, their score will be time cap plus number of unfinished reps. (Rep = 1 sec.) Rx and Scaled 250/200 M Row (Partner A) 250/200 M Row (Partner B) 250/200 M Row (Partner C) 30 - Synchronized Burpees 40 - Snatches (115/75 Rx 85/55 Scaled) 50 - Med Ball Sit-Ups (20/14 Rx 14/10 Scaled) 60 - Pull-Ups (Chest to Bar Rx) Masters 250/200 M Row (Partner A) 250/200 M Row (Partner B) 25 - Synchronized Burpees 30 - Snatches (85/55#) 35 - Med Ball Sit-Ups (14/10#) 40 - Pull-Ups
