About This Competition
7th Annual Battle Of The Iron Barbell
Welcome to BOIB 2022, below is all the information you will need pre-registration. Please feel free to message our facebook or instagram page to clairfy any of the rules/formats.
This year the competition will align with the standard CrossFit open format. 2 Major divisions (Rxd/Scaled) and 2 sub divisions for each of the major divisions.
TEAM FORMAT
Teams of Four (MM/FF)
This year our goal is to make these events incorporate strengths and weaknesses of the whole team. We reccomend choosing a well balanced team :)
DIVISIONS
Rxd
RXD Division 1 - The top 10 Teams after qualifier WODS.
RXD Division 2 - The bottom 10 Teams after qualifer WODS.
Scaled
SCALED Division 1 - The top 10 Teams after qualifier WODS.
SCALED Division 2 - The bottom 10 Teams after qualifer WODS.
RXD - WHAT TO EXPECT
RX'D division will have the following:
*Note there are more movements these are just the more difficult ones.
Handstand Push Ups
(At least one male and one female must have these and the other team mates must be able to hold a handstand against the wall).
Bar Muscle Ups
(At least one of your four teammates must have these).
Snatch 80/50kg
(at least one male to lift this weight and one female).
We encourage if you fill the above recommendations to go into this division.
SCALED - WHAT TO EXPECT
Scaled division will have the following:
*Note there are more movements these are just the more difficult ones.
Handstand Push Ups (1 Abmat)
(At least one male and one female must have these and the other team mates must be able to hold a handstand against the wall).
Chest To Bar Pull Ups
(At least one of your four teammates must have these).
Snatch 60/40kg
(at least one male to lift this weight and one female).
We encourage if you fill the above reccomendations to go into this division.
WORKOUT RELEASES
All workouts will be released by August 22nd
FAQS
Can I replace a teammate prior to the competition starting?
Yes, just notify us via our instagram or facebook page and we will update
Can I change divisions after the workouts are released?
Yes, you will have up to september 2nd to change divisions if needed. After that date you will be locked in.
Are there prizes for each sub division?
Yes, we will be dedicating 20% of the ticket cost into the prize pool aswell as sponsor prizes.

Workouts
AMRAP 15 Minutes
150 x Wall Ball 9/6kg
100 x Cal Run
50 x Bar Muscle Ups/Chest To Bar Pull Ups
Working as a team of 4 with 1 person at a time complete
as many reps as possible in 15 minutes. Scoring point A will be after the completion of the calorie run and scoring point B will be total reps.
WORKOUT FLOW
On the call of 3,2,1 go athlete 1 will begin peforming reps of the wall ball. Athletes must complete 25 reps prior to tagging the next athlete. There is no order required for the wall balls (the same 2 athletes can do all the reps if desired)
After all wall balls are completed the team moves on to the treadmill where each athlete must complete 25 cals. Upon the last athlete completing 25 cals you will get a timed score for Part A
The team will continue to move through the wod accumulating reps. Bar muscle ups have no minimum, athletes can tag in and out as they please.
STANDARDS
All movements will follow the crossfit.com standards for competition.
