About This Competition

 

Celebrate Valentine's Day with your best fren competing in Gorilla Games - Inner Rage!

 

Teams of two, two guys, or two gals; two divisions: Gorilla (RX) or Monkey (scaled).

Two, team workouts; and each athlete does an individual workout.  

Workout #1 - Team Workout - Ahtlete #1 and #2

12 Minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)

Both athletes are always working, except during transitions.

One athlete will complete:

15 Dumbbell Goblet Squats 40#'s/60#'s for Ladies/Men Gorilla Division 30#'s/50#'s for Ladies/Men Monkey Division; right into

Max Double Unders (Gorilla) Singles (Monkey)

One athlete rides ERG Bike for meters

Switch as necessary - each time you and your partner rotate you must do 15 Goblet Squats before Dubs or Singles.  

RULES: Dumbbell Goblet Squat - One dumbbell is held at chest level with both hands.  Once control of the dumbbell is established, athlete will squat to hip crease parallel or below with knee.  DUMBBELL CANNOT BE DROPPED FROM ABOVE THE WAIST. 

Dubs - rope passes under feet twice for a rep.

Singles - rope passes under feet once for a rep. 

SCORE: Total meters and total dubs/singles combined.

Workout #2 - Individual Athlete #1

8 Minute AMRAP

200 Meter Run on Air Runner

10 Devil Presses - 30#s/40# for Ladies/Men Gorilla Division 25#s/35's for Ladies/Men Monkey Division

Rules: You can get meters on the Air Runner however you would like - run/sprint/walk.  The Air Runner will have a running balance.  For example, if you have roll over of 14 meters (214 meters) the first round, you will run/walk to a minimum of 414 the second round.  The Air Runner will not be restarted each round.

Devil Press: Movement starts with chest on the floor.  The dumbbell is one smooth motion from the floor to overhead.  You cannot stop at your shoulder and press.  Chest must touch the floor on the down for each rep.  Rep is complete when dumbbells are overhead, with elbows locked out.  DO NOT DROP DUMBBELLS FROM ABOVE THE WAIST.  

SCORE: Total meters and reps combined.  

 

Workout #3 - Individual Ahtlete #2

8 Minute AMRAP

3 Rope Climbs 

5/5 Dumbbell Clean and Press 50#'s/70#'s for Gorilla Division 35#'s/55#'s for Monkey Division

RULES: Rope Climb: Starting with feet on the floor for each climb, participants will climb the rope in any manner and touch the top, descent to feet on the floor for each rep. 

Clean and Jerk: 5 reps each hand.  You can break the reps for each arm up as desired, as long as you get 5 reps for each arm.  Dumbbell must touch the floor each round, lock out with straight elbow at the top.  Athlete must show control of the dumbbell the entire movement.  NO DROPPING DUMBBELLS FROM ABOVE THE WAIST.  

SCORE: Total rope climbs and reps combined.

 

WORKOUT #4 - Team Workout - Athlete #1 and #2

8 Minute AMRAP

Each Athlete will find a 1 rep max Clean and a 2 rep max Front Squat

RULES: Athlete #1 and #2 will find a 1 rep max Clean - clean can be power or squat.  Clean is from the floor, and is finished when hips are locked out.  Athletes must show control of the bar before dropping.  Judges will give DROP command.  Then Athletes will move on to find a 2 rep max Front Squat.  Front Squat is from the rig.  Hip crease must be parallel or below knee, and hips locked out and ahtlete showing control at the top of the movement.  Athlete must announce the weight they are attempting to their Judge before they attempt the lift.

200 Meter Run on Air Runner right into Devil Presses.

Workout #1 - Team Workout - Ahtlete #1 and #2


12 Minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)


Both athletes are always working, except during transitions.


One athlete will complete:
15 Dumbbell at Goblet Squats right into (40# for Gorilla Women; 60# for Gorilla Men; 30# for Monkey Women; 50# for Monkey Men)
Max Double Unders or Singles
One athlete rides ERG Bike for meters
